Cloud and Mana I believe asked to play their game earlier because of scheduling problems. When I recorded my cast Tuesday, they asked me if I could stay to do an extra BO3, so I did.

Well, yeah, but this applies to every tech investment in the game...you can play it safe and just switch to templar as the 6gas kicks in, since that's too much gas for just 1 robo anyways.

It's also inviable on 2 bases, you just don't have the gas for it, so you have to be on at least 3 bases. Given that, it's easy for terran to abuse you with drops since you've got colossus and high templars, both of which are very slow and can't react quickly.

Applies to pure collo or pure templar too though.

Not quite, once you've picked a tech path, you're good, you don't need to re-invest in more tech structures and resources. If you try to do both, you need to spend more money and time on more buildings and resources. Late game, if you're trying to do both at the same time (building colossus while building HT's) you need a ton of gas. That's why you don't see it frequently.

EDIT: the late game gas cost is important because it really cuts into your stalker count, and the ability to rebuild sentries.
