We will fully open up registration to all players hopefully soon, but being this is a very new thing we are taking it a bit slow to ensure it runs smooth ![]() Also TSL just confirmed they are sending their whole team for Week 1! 0_o

That's the last I heard about it: On May 09 2011 06:33 monitor wrote: Sanshorn Mists is not a great map. Any map in Starcraft II will function, and can have some epic games. The concept of Sanshorn didn't measure up to any of the new maps, and thus was removed. The 4 new maps are completely playable, and better than any of the older 4. How come you changed your mind? Did you update it? I hope you updated the aesthetics at least, I think it's kinda ugly^^ Travin is in, very nice ![]() ![]() Rest of the map pool is obviously solid GSL maps, nice mix ![]() Still super pumped for this !

Well the iCCup Map Team and League Operations are two different entities. Sometimes we see things different. Travin shoudl be fun! And Testbug is fine for Protoss, after MLG all the matchups are sitting right at about 55/45 winrates (check TLPD) which is good even for a BW map let alone SC2. The new objects in the middle create a lot of great chokes and seems to have evened things out ![]() Edit: To prove my point I went to TPLD and looked up Testbug's stats after MLG: TvZ: 56.7% ZvP: 56.3% PvT: 55.6% Seems to be one of the most balanced maps out there.

Terminus RE: Zerg: 49.50% Protoss: 52.05% Terran: 48.45% Terminus SE Zerg: 56.10% Protoss: 33.95% Terran: 59.95% We cannot look at those numbers and in good honestly leave Terminus SE in.

I came upon some suprising data that has lead us to remove GSL Terminus SE from this week's map pool. It will be replaced with GSL Terminus RE (has no rocks into third) which has much more consistant numbers. The breakdown is below and it speaks for itself. Terminus RE: Zerg: 49.50% Protoss: 52.05% Terran: 48.45% Terminus SE Zerg: 56.10% Protoss: 33.95% Terran: 59.95% We cannot look at those numbers and in good honestly leave Terminus SE in. I don't think that's a really good option, in particular for the players. This is because a lot of them already practice on Terminus SE and it would probably inconvenience them to practice on SE and play on RE. Something like how I didn't really like the change to Tal'Darim Altar LE initially, but now since most leagues use it, I'm alright with it (even though it is a weaker map IMO to the original TDA). While statistics can be quite useful, I think it might be good to have a look at the general state of the metagame and matchups, and recently Protosses have been losing a lot in general independently of maps. I kinda feel that the switch to SE coincides with the recent slump of Protosses rather than map imbalances or anything. I guess you could say RE is more favorable for Protosses than SE due to the fact that Protosses can turtle easier. I don't know, just my two cents, cause I don't think Protosses have really complained much about the map despite the stats. EDIT: And also it sort of ties with what the rest of the leagues have been doing. A lot of them are (Dreamhack now as well) have started to use TDA LE and Terminus SE. It's not that those maps are better, it's just to keep things standard.

This is all true but one thing we always focus on in our tournaments is using both new and fair maps. 33% is pretty bad considering SE's sample size is not that small. There is still a sizable amount of tournaments are still using the RE version. We understand this is less then optimal for practice purposes, but I would instead urge other tournaments to look at these stats and move away from SE.

All the games will be played but not all casted. We will be casting A LOT of them on iCCup TV, some will hit our Youtube, and some will be released in replay packs. I am also going to reach out to some community casters like Total Biscuit, CatsPajamas, and a couple others to see if they would like to cast some of them we could not get to. We are actually just going to have wayyyyy too many games to cover! Edit: Does anybody have a complete list of who is in Code A/S currently? I can't find one on Liquipedia and although I know probably 85% of the list offhand I need the complete thing.
