glad to see z33k making an appearance. I played in a lot of their upstart tournies using their online system. It was always a blast and they handled issues very quickly.

Initially, I was 100% committed to watching any match I could from Korea, but ever since the GSLWC, I have taken much more interest in the Western scene. I think the way the IGN is put together is simply impecable. The comic style art, and the layouts are all just so good! I think it might be just me, but when I see Koreans in the NASL, I don't take so much notice unless its someone I'm a huge fan of (like July, or MMA). Hoping you don't listen to those who are whinging about the exclusions of Koreans. I certainly love watching my favourite players from NA/EU duke it out.... 1 thing I would like to mention though, is, as an Australian, it would be nice to see us "get the nodd" of approval. With FXO pushing big money into the scene, and supporting the Aus roots level, I really want to see a couple more players from Aus get the oppertunity to show off... As if being isolated on a desolate island isn't bad enough!

Anyone with a SEA account is allowed to play on NA by blizzard, so most people in Australia play NA as their main server.

Alex do you have anything specific about this? ie. if SEA casters forgo sleep, they can still cast?

Like I said, we're branching out to EU and LA this time, and will see how many issues are caused by lag and see if we can implement solutions to that so that when we expand to Korea and SEA, we can handle it better. I'm sorry that it means you won't be able to play this time, but this is how we are going to be expanding our roach, slowly and making sure we're doing it the right way for the end user each time, in terms of giving them the best games possible. One player having higher latency can't possibly cause 'lag' for the other player. I think the delay Australians have to the NA server would be similar to that experienced by Europeans, and in some cases (depending on your ISP) better than those from Europe. If it's quality of games you're worried about that was only a problem for Korea/Asia to NA after the earthquake and anyone laddering to Grandmaster league on NA can probably deal with any latency they get and still compete at a high level. Excluding SEA players makes no sense, I think someone told you wrong information about how it might affect lag so please reconsider allowing SEA players!

Decision just seems weird. Hopefully they didn't just forget about SEA at production meetings and had to come up with a reason after the fact ![]()

In fact, for Australians in the east (where most of the population is), latency to NA is better than to SEA.

Also I'm pretty excited to hear that they're actually going to be casting the qualifiers. Even more, it really is a great forum to let some potential casters get tested. Can't wait for season two!
