Yesterday's broadcast has had its issues. We all saw it. There are 10+ pages of whining. There is an entirely new cast going on now. Please keep whining about issues experienced yesterday to yourself going forward in the thread and allow other people to enjoy the games.

Incontrol. It's really not a huge deal. Ignore haters. It's been a rough start, some of it is on the NASL crew, some of it is not (walk overs etc). With improvement, NASL will be top tier stuff.

Keep being the baller that you are. I'm enjoying your casting and communication with the community.

lovin this zvz too. zenio handling this build brilliantly.

This is more or less how I feel about it. Maybe I'm older than a lot of people here (total assumption?) or maybe I just have more patience, but even given tonights missteps and a week one that had a few problems I am looking forward to the rest of the season. Sure, it isn't the best tournament on the planet at the moment, but its nightly SC2 matches, in prime time, with great players. I can forgive some growing pains and bide my time for NASL to mature a little. I think the knee jerk reaction that if it doesn't knock your socks off in the first week you aren't going to watch anymore is just throwing the baby out with the bath water. No need to be so rash.

Instead of having $300,000 in prizes, why not have less prize money and a better staff? Atleast then you wouldn't have these problems.

Is Gretorp extremely tired? He looks like he's having trouble keeping his eyes open and they are bloodshot.

Jesus, there's no pleasing some of you. Yes there are mistakes being made but I can't imagine trying to start up a huge league like this from scratch essentially. How long has GOM been going casting games? MLG?

There have been a few bumps but at least for the most part we've gotten to see a lot of games. This is the first week of a 3 month long season. The games are only going to start getting more interesting every week and of course the casting, content and everything else will be improving over time as well.

If you want to ask for a refund, go ahead but there seems to be a huge knee-jerk reaction happening in the community right now. I'm still excited for this league and can't wait to see who makes it out of the pool play, etc.

MLG and GSL are LIVE CAST so there are bound to be some things out of their direct control. NASL is prerecorded. As incontrol has said, it's just unacceptable.

I find the term 'unacceptable' hilarious. First of all, if you didn't pay $25, they don't owe you anything. Stop acting self entitled.

If you did pay, well, then sorry but let this be a lesson to not buy things before you know what you're paying for.

2. This was a mistake. It's really really bad. I know the NASL is upset about it and will fix it. There is no way to go back in time.. but please know we are sorry.

3. Maps were updated. There is no legitimate argument for using the outdated maps. That too was a mistake overlooked by not consulting the pro players of the squad (me and gretorp). It has been rectified.

Some inside info:

The NASL isn't a bustling studio of 30 people. It's 5 production people and 2 commentators. We are hiring out professional help for the sound (after the problems) we consult pro's on the stage etc... but we are not some huge broadcasting company. When people say "mistakes like this shouldn't happen.. you need to watch for mistakes!" They do. They do the best they can. A lot of these guys are running off of 4 or less hours a night. Encoding, editing, doing graphics etc.. all each day after this schedule. Do they want your sympathy? No. No they do not. Do they expect better results than what we have produced? MORE THAN YOU KNOW. Nobody is more pissed than Russ and co after each mistake.

This is the first week. None of them came from a broadcasting / league background. All of them are chasing a dream and trying to do it to the best of their abilities. When we make mistakes please tell us with all of this in mind. If you STILL feel the need to say "FIRE X" or "THIS IS FUCKING TERRIBLE" then I guess go ahead and do that.

I get to wake up in the same house as these people and watch them go at it for another 16 hours each day.

It is absolutely unacceptable to make these mistakes and they will not be made continuously. As they happen they get fixed asap. In the end it makes us better. We were never planning on 1 season so we have time to fix these things. Ideally, would they never have happened? OF COURSE. Is it possible to have caught these faster? CERTAINLY. But we didn't and we are sorry. Please understand the sheer effort and work that is going into this. This league is growing and it has growing pains. It also has amateur mistakes and huge errors. All of which will be sorted out as they come up.

Oh my god why even lie. You tell so many jokes on SOTG that were just as bad and close to racism or worse as the one in the half time show.

Thanks for expressing your point of view on this topic, I agree with you.

I'm glad iNcontroL recognizes the humor in that intermission was rather offensive and definitely not going to help promote or grow eSports.

I don't understand what was so bad with the humor in When Cheese Fails. I didn't find it to be their funniest cast, but I wasn't offended by anything, nor did I notice any offensive comments.

I've heard "rape" used many times before to mean "completely destroy" so that didn't do much for me. I wouldn't worry about it.

There's a difference between blogging fun and professional career. I guess you don't understand that?

Try not using words like zvz, zvp, tvz. Use the full wording, Zerg versus Zerg, etc. Casual audiences won't like.

Phew, I was worried, thank you for being a pillar of sanity and straightforwardness.

Not sure what they hate is about, it's been like a week. GSL had lots of issues season 1, MLG is always ultra fail, 1 week in is nothing to flip about.
I don't Micro, I FEMTO. That's 9 orders of magnitude more extreme.

Glad there's a strong contingent in this thread of reasonable voices defending NASL to balance out the spoiled teenagers demanding perfection in the league's first week.

Good stuff. NASL is doing a great job for a small production team, etc. Everything has been great up until now and things have been addressed with speed, great job for a small team so far.

I hope you or gretorp make an official post in the SC2 section with this so this doesn't get buried.

Also, posting what was posted in the sc2reddit section about what the NASL is currently fixing is important to publicize, especially to TL.

+1. Very grateful for such a humble response to all of this
