Yesterday's broadcast has had its issues. We all saw it. There are 10+ pages of whining. There is an entirely new cast going on now. Please keep whining about issues experienced yesterday to yourself going forward in the thread and allow other people to enjoy the games. |

2. This was a mistake. It's really really bad. I know the NASL is upset about it and will fix it. There is no way to go back in time.. but please know we are sorry.
3. Maps were updated. There is no legitimate argument for using the outdated maps. That too was a mistake overlooked by not consulting the pro players of the squad (me and gretorp). It has been rectified.
Some inside info:
The NASL isn't a bustling studio of 30 people. It's 5 production people and 2 commentators. We are hiring out professional help for the sound (after the problems) we consult pro's on the stage etc... but we are not some huge broadcasting company. When people say "mistakes like this shouldn't happen.. you need to watch for mistakes!" They do. They do the best they can. A lot of these guys are running off of 4 or less hours a night. Encoding, editing, doing graphics etc.. all each day after this schedule. Do they want your sympathy? No. No they do not. Do they expect better results than what we have produced? MORE THAN YOU KNOW. Nobody is more pissed than Russ and co after each mistake.
This is the first week. None of them came from a broadcasting / league background. All of them are chasing a dream and trying to do it to the best of their abilities. When we make mistakes please tell us with all of this in mind. If you STILL feel the need to say "FIRE X" or "THIS IS FUCKING TERRIBLE" then I guess go ahead and do that.
I get to wake up in the same house as these people and watch them go at it for another 16 hours each day.
It is absolutely unacceptable to make these mistakes and they will not be made continuously. As they happen they get fixed asap. In the end it makes us better. We were never planning on 1 season so we have time to fix these things. Ideally, would they never have happened? OF COURSE. Is it possible to have caught these faster? CERTAINLY. But we didn't and we are sorry. Please understand the sheer effort and work that is going into this. This league is growing and it has growing pains. It also has amateur mistakes and huge errors. All of which will be sorted out as they come up.
I hope you or gretorp make an official post in the SC2 section with this so this doesn't get buried.
Also, posting what was posted in the sc2reddit section about what the NASL is currently fixing is important to publicize, especially to TL.

Would you rather there be no NASL and have to sit there watching random low-masters tournaments? Personally I think it's ABSOLUTELY HILARIOUS that they failed so hard and showed game 3 instead of game 1, but its really NOT THAT BIG A DEAL in the grand scheme of things. They're clearly making improvements on a daily basis. Relax, laugh about it, enjoy yourselves.
I hate this attitude. The whole "chill out" attitude is an impediment to improvement. Yeah sometimes it's ok, but right now NASL needs to take some heat because they are fucking up, and they won't improve unless people light a fire under their ass.

The only way I think NASL can recover from this raging mob is to stream a few game on high quality and have it be stutter and crash free. I really commend incontrol for sticking with it. Nothing was ever perfect when it first came out.

I must say, iNcontrol you have been excellent in your responding and dealing with this issue.
Credit where credit is due, and you deserve a lot.
I just wish the rest of the team could have your respect and humility. The way things are being handled in the stream chat is really disappointing, any complaint is removed and the author banned, whether or not the comment is rude/trolling.
Kudos to you Geoff, your responses are very much appreciated.

All that matters is we get to watch awesome players play!

1) I get VoDs, i don't get to watch games live usually, so the only way i get to watch NASL (due to work and sleep) is VoDs
2) When I do get to watch, I get to watch in 1080p with 0 lag. I think the pay users get priority for justin TV, I have yet to lag while watching the NASL...
3) I get a sick sick sick star next to my name in chat .

Problems so far:
1) Players no-showing... it happens. How many times have players no-showed to tournaments? Always.
2) The two spoilers... well, it happens, but I watch to enjoy games, having spoilers does suck a little... but its not the end of the world.
3) Painuser vs Cloud... it will either be shown later, or VoDed and I get to watch it tomorrow, either or... as a paying user I am happy.

Everything else, they are working on, its getting better... and I still have another two and a half months left on my season pass.

I think I speak for pretty much everyone when I say that I would rather see a $300,000 prize pool advertised instead of $400,000, if that means you can hire more people and have a more professional production. This just seems like common sense to me.

I'm just glad this didn't happen to any players I really care about, I would be pissed off aswell.

What happened in the Cloud/PainUser game 3? It cut off at the end and then they were going to Zenio/Sen. Who won?
Come on man, this one is obvious.
There's no point playing only the last game of a 3 game series. They are clearly going to play this series, then maybe the Boxer one, then the Painuser v Cloud one in the correct order. I would be very very surprised if they are just skipping it entirely.
