What exactly is a cheesy abusive play?

If it can be done it can be done. Defend it or ask for a patch. Or scout it. People who cry cheese sound like IdrAs mom or something. :-P

You can't queue units on warp gates. If you have them come in at random you have to constantly be checking your warp gates for when they cool down, which isn't efficient use of APM. And since most Protoss players build several warp gates at once, they are synched up by default so you'd have to actually chrono boost them to separate the cooldowns. But Chrono boosts are better saved on Colossi.


Yeah, I am no high-level player but I do play P and these are the basics of playing Protoss. So I am really surprised at everyone commenting on it. I am pretty sure that they are not Protoss players for starters and are talking about something that they have no idea about.

One collosus is cheaper than a medivac + 4 marauders, it's not a cost efficient trade. Only reason it would be effective is if QXC didn't make the expensive vikings/starport and just kept the collosus count low with drops and made more barracks unit to overpower the protoss ground army.

^this x 100000

For stalkers for example 750 minerals 300 gas for one 6 gate warp-in. Plus every warp-in is 1.5 pylons worth of supply so that's another 200 minerals you have to throw down right after to be ready for the next wave of warp-ins.

Do people even play this game?


Did you even watch the games? He's not floating 1k minerals at 6 gates, he's floating OVER 1k minerals at 3 gates at the beginning of the game.

You realize that every race works this way right? The matter of them all syncing up means that they were out of usage.

Zerg have to use larva as they pop or they float, terrans have to make more units when the old ones finish (yes they can queue but that puts them behind because they don't have enough unit producing structures). Every race won't be floating minerals if they are macroing effectively, and protoss even have an icon in the bottom right for when the warpgates can be used and aren't on cooldown

I am really not impressed by qxc at all. guys, get real. all he does is drops and he is good at multitasking. but there is more to it in this game! Adelscotts timings and bos clearly better !


I'm gonna disagree on games 3 and 4. QXC's cloaked banshee build didn't set him that far ahead. By the time the first 2 banshees were finished harassing qxc was just landing his natural while adel already had 3 bases up. The way adel dealt with the banshees minutes after they were revealed was just bad. It was hardly a build order win.

Game 4 was pretty close. Adel got in a good position, having 3 bases and collosus out in good numbers while qxc was on 2 base, and qxc's drop harass and constantly sniping collosus did pretty well to put him back in the game. It was still close until that final medivac drop where qxc lost 3 medivacs worth of units for almost nothing. Playing anything vP is just more forgiving for the toss, and QXCs playstyle this game (dropping oriented) is focused on slowly gaining minute advantages, hence the playstyle itself is already unforgiving. Hence a key mistake makes the entire game look far more one sided than it actually was.
