Players such as Jinro, HuK, and Adelscott did not apply for this tour, so don't ask why they aren't on this list. DIMAGA, Kas, and LaLush turned applications in late so they will not appear either. Please take some time to learn who exactly applied. Please inform yourself about who applied and who didn't. |

As soon as those picks were announced it was obvious that the NASL has chosen to hold back on the Korean invites in order to stack the tournament in favor of NA and EU players.
It's embarrassing how obvious they are going about it.
Still holding out hope that the last 15 players will be about 90% top Koreans... even though theres only 2 Koreans out of 35 atm (who arn't even code A).

I know alot of people are upset over certain players in the league, but remember only 34 qualify for next season, and if these players are as bad as everyone thinks, they will be in the ottom 16 that will need to re qualify.
|
If the korean -> na lag is always as bad as it appears based on some TSL games, it provides another justification for not including too many koreans. It's certainly very distracting.

I cant understand how people can judge the whole league only by 2 invites those I dont like too( Vibe and stalie). 2 out of 35 by now thats only 5 % of the invited players.
|
Meifer, it's not just those two, it's the fact that they're inviting moon and ace which will count as korean invites when you have all of startale and prime applying.
Vibe and Stalife are just kinda topping off the already existing MEH. There's better NA and EU players to showcase anyways, regardless of korean invites.

ANyway with all the lag issues and QQing on the forums, the community will never be satisfied. Always find a reason to whine and such...bunch of kids

I am pretty sure that the top Koreans will be in anyway, as well for some top EUs. I mean most of the people mention most of the time only Dimaga or Morrow. there are still 15 slots left and I dont think that Morrow or Dimaga count as 5 supply

This way, even though there are good announcements, the meh-ish ones really destroy this kind of marketing.

The silver lining is that NASL is showing us how very lucky we are to have Teamliquid and the TSL.
The TSL actually features the greatest players in the world in epic matches based solely on their skill levels.
Thank you TL for showing everyone else what needs to be done if you truely want to run one of the best Starcraft tournaments ever!

The 5 at a time announcement is fine but anyone with some knowledge of advertising knows the invites should get better or at least stay around the same level as you go on (aside from possibly some big names in announcement 1), you want to build up or even not down. If the invites get more mediocre every week people stop paying attention or worse yet it leaves people with a bad taste right before the actually event is going to start. That is why it is odd that the recent players announced are the most "meh", but also why I believe that out of the next 15 most will be big name koreans, it is the only thing that makes sense from an advertising point of view.

Just look at TSL. The skill gap between Koreans and foreigners is insane!

Tomorrow and Monday are going to be clutch for NASL. If the invites underwhelm they are at risk of losing all credibility.
|
Mmmm i actually said to myself i wouldnt comment on the players untill the list is final, but atm its look rather dull. Like some kind of minor league who wants to play in with the big boy leagues.
Really hope last 15 invites will be top players, or ill just wont get the premium account.

I disagree completely. We've already been talking a week straight on these, and we're just halfway through. Had they released them all at once, I'd say there'd have just been a few days of bitching and moaning with the occasional "yay Artosis" post tossed in.. There would be a lot less idiocy to be subjected to, however.

Dude you are totally missing the point. Its not that Koreans are better than NA or EU players, its that NASL is specifically holding back Koreans from playing because THEY THINK THAT KOREANS ARE GOING TO DOMINATE.
We just want to see epic matches between Koreans and the rest of the world. If you don't even let the Koreans play in your tournament how are the NA, EU players even going to demonstrate how good they truly are??

Well, building up or even has not really been done today ;P. I don't know if they will do it like that, but I sure hope so, imo it's just that you can go down, if you don't go down too far. Some players that are in just don't deserve it over other players that are probably not going to get in, but we'll see . I'm a guy full of hope ;x.

If anyone thinks that anyone on that list doesn't deserve to be in NASL, you don't know the players well if at all. Stop crying about nothing.

Just like the Koreans are currently dominating TSL? Give me a break.

don't invite koreans... they can't play with the lag...
reading tsl threads... it's just sick how much lag complains there are... let's avoid that...

Isn't that the problem? I don't know who Stalife is at all, never heard of the guy, that's bad? I don't put someone that I've never heard of in the top 50 in the world, or in the top 50 of foreigners. If they really do move away from inviting a lot of Koreans, they still haven't invited the best of NA/EU representatives. (In my opinion, I might have been living under a rock)
