Players such as Jinro, HuK, and Adelscott did not apply for this tour, so don't ask why they aren't on this list. DIMAGA, Kas, and LaLush turned applications in late so they will not appear either. Please take some time to learn who exactly applied. Please inform yourself about who applied and who didn't. |

Well half of your list didnt even apllied for NASL. THe people here should inform themself better before making comments You are sooo wrong, how about you inform yourself, the only two players I listed who may not have applied are Nestea and MVP. Even then Xeris lied to us when he said NASL was reaching out to Korean teams to accommodate them. IM should have been the first team they reached out to. Don't say things like he lied, they might not have been interested in this league even though NASL reached out to them. I don't know why you are defending the NASL organizers... Including Moon and Ace over the more impressive Koreans is all the tell you need to show where their priorities lie. You don't know about the last 15 invites, the big name Koreans could still come in, you shouldn't talk crap about that (yet).
My point is just that even if the Koreans get in, there are going to be some people that are not in, guys like Grubby, Goody and Dimaga that definitely deserve to be there if Stalife/Vibe/Moman got in. (Not disrespecting them either).
E; Oh and to the people saying an oGs member was confirmed, that can also be Hero/TheStC because they already played in previous foreign tournaments. Not saying they are bad choices or whatever, but don't immediatly assume that MC and NaDa are in.

If thats so MKP will be in. But i can't find their videos anywhere. But, if all of prime applied, thats another example of Xeris reaching another team?

I kinda like that they picked MoMan, his video made me an instant fan. Moonglade also makes sense.
I saw how many Korean application videos there were, so where are they? I don't understand that at all.

If Xeris wanted to avoid this line of criticism he should have been announcing Korean invites in the first 35 players.
Putting out Ace and Moon first sets the tone, and while it is true the whole list has not been announced yet, there are only 15 slots remaining.
Unless 5-6 Koreas are included in the last 3 sets then NASL is going to be heavily under representing the top players in the world.

Why do they have to announce them early. ITS CALLED BUILDING SUSPENSE. Don't complain about "No Koreans" until all 50 have been announced. I guantee there will be some "top koreans" in the next 15 players.

I completely agree with this. Everyone should stop fucking whining until all the players are announced. In the mean time we should just talk about the people who did get in.

Do you think he is in a position to make that decision? He doesn't run the NASL, he is just a public speaker (or something along those lines) for them. He may have some say, but ultimately it is not his decision.

K, we will wait and see, but if top Koreas are under represented in the last 15 slots, this criticism is only going to making things harder for NASL to be seen as a "top tier" tournament.

I'm just hoping the last 15 spots will be filled with players that will live up to the hype of the league.

I have faith that there will be lots of top koreans in the last 15, that or this is the most idiotic marketing strategy I have ever seen. I believe the people organizing this thing could not possibly be that stupid.

Good players, But i think Demuslim had to have another surgery on his arm ( not sure) so he may still not be able to return to play yet?
Tho he did apply, so it may come down to how he's healed?

I am repeating myself but lag is a big issue. if you look in the tsl or fxoopen thread there are sites of people nagging about lags that costs the games for MvP, MKP, Fruitdealer or even Boxer, even so he won his games. It would be no fun for me to follow the tournament if everytime a foreigner win a game , which he deserved, the people are only talking about lag.

Plus it was like in the middle of the night for them (5 or 6 am) while it was morning for koreans.
|
I said that the foreigners deserved their wins ^^ and I think that the EU players would have good chance in taking out Koreans even without lag as well. good exemples would be Socke vs squirtle in the IEM tournement.
|
I'd would like to see more of a variety of players then gsl players . I can already watch the gsl. This Is nasl. So let's get the big north American stars in here
|
It doesn't even look like we're getting the best 50 in NA/EU here. Forget the whining about koreans, it's a whole other level of fail we're looking at now. Vibe, stalife? Come on. There's obviously much better players that actually applied and will be left out. Pretty sad.
It's not the best players, it's not the best picks for hype either, so what is it exactly you're trying to do here?
|
I also want to point out that NASL said the application videos would not play a big part in considering who would be included in the league.
But lets be honest, Moman got selected on the strength of his video alone.
It's these kind of statements/decisions that make me question whether the NASL organizers are being completely honest about their intentions.
|
And if the excuse is the application deadline, as it seems to be for Dimaga, lol. The deadlines that were announced for NASL haven't been enforced on their own side, but they're going to give us mediocre players instead of people we actually want to cheer for on a technicality like this? Sad excuse for a player pool we're looking at right now considering who was looking to get in.

This player list disappoints me more and more everyday. I was cautiously optimistic until today, because they were still at the point where they could have had all the essential players assuming the last 4 days were amazing. However, after seeing some of these choices <Vibe/Stalife>, its fairly obvious that Xeris and whoever else is choosing the players is *very* biased and not actually looking for the best players.
Honestly, Vibe is perhaps one of the least qualified people on the list of applicants. Its kinda embarrassing when one of his biggest achievements is getting knocked out of the winners bracket at mlg dallas early and winning a few games in the loser bracket. Stalife may have a few small tournament wins, but there are so many players with better tournament wins.
Its just kinda annoying that Xeris and other tournament staff kept mentioning how the players would be accepted off tournament results when that's simply not true. I can accept someone like Artosis as he's proven that he can play at a high level(from sc1) and that he understands the game at a high level(from his commentaries).
Even someone like Moman is acceptable because he brings in a group of viewers that wouldn't normally watch(due to his background). However, choices like Vibe and Stalife literally do not benefit the tournament in any way. The only reason (that i can think of) they would ever be invited is because Xeris probably contacted their teams (nrg/col) before they knew just how many good players would apply and felt like he had to accept at least 1 of their players.
I don't think it was a smart idea for Xeris to have any choice in picking applicants because he works with these players/teams in other tournaments. Therefore, he's biased to invite people on more factors than just their skill/achievements/popularity.
The last 15 invites have to be near perfect or there are going to be a lot of sad SC2 fans.

It's not the best players, it's not the best picks for hype either, so what is it exactly you're trying to do here? Exactly, I'm not bandwagoning the Koreans here, but wondering about this. Guys like Artosis and Grubby, who perhaps might not be the best players around, but have massive fanbases, I can see why they would be chosen. MomaN was appreciated in the community just because of his video, but Vibe and Stalife, come on, I have honestly no clue what they have accomplished, if anything.
