Players such as Jinro, HuK, and Adelscott did not apply for this tour, so don't ask why they aren't on this list. DIMAGA, Kas, and LaLush turned applications in late so they will not appear either. Please take some time to learn who exactly applied. Please inform yourself about who applied and who didn't. |
Sheth and axlav are meh for the new 5 players they added today, rest are okay.
I think my prediction was right that we will see every EG player in the tournament (except maybe incontrol but im pretty sure hell be there too)
If they do invite Every EG player= sad face for the legitimacy of this league, guess ill wait to see if any big korean invites come along, im pretty sure we will see MC and nada dunno who else though.
Some good players and some very underwhelming players, i cant wait till 3 seasons down the road after all the baddies have been kicked out and we are left with solid competition and people who actually deserve to be there.

Qualification should be open and transparent. Doing it this way smacks of cronyism, especially with having nearly all the EG team members. These aren't the best players in the world.
|
So are they going to invite ANY good Koreans?

1) Wait until all 50 are announced before you decide who should've gotten in over axslav or machine. 2) Axslav played icredibly well for EG during the GCPL and other clan wars.
Complain about who didn't make the cut when their all announced. There are some huge names to come ( oGs members + others) so be patient.

And the reason they stomped IEM is because foreigners arn't good compared to Koreans atm.
So far only 2 comparably low lvl Koreans. Guessing they only got invited because they had results in a foreign tournament (IEM). Show us some oGs picks alrdy!!!

The way there putting the groups together seems to stick to their original theory of 5 players per team. So assuming there were 10 teams of 5 players. But, this isn't the case. I would love to see which EG gets stuck in group 5 though.Would be pretty funny if its iNcontroL, LzGaMeR, Artosis, CocoA, or Skew. Would be funny to see bunch of Team USA BW players in group 5 or even Ret will be so nice.

I hope they let Grubby in it. I'd like to see what the best wc3 player can do in sc2. He'll be very good pretty soon.

I'm not sure if some of the people who're complaining about the lack of numerous Koreans are aware, but don't worry, the GSL still exists.
This is not another tournament designed solely to show off the best Koreans. Hell, that would defeat the entire purpose of the organization, I'd think. The NASL exists to take the foreign scene to the next level, and that will not happen if it's simply filled with and dominated by Korean players. The goal is to gather strong, WELL KNOWN foreign players, and try and put on a show that can attract the masses. Believe it or not, they are not making their choices to appeal to the hardcore TL users. Frankly, many of you need to stop acting so entitled.
The NASL team is working their asses off to put on a big north american production, and honestly, we should all be happy that such efforts are being made to promote esports on this side of the ocean, even if you're not particularly enamored by the players list right now. Try and think big picture for a change.
As far as inviting EG players goes... are you kidding me? EG is one of the absolute top north american teams. OF COURSE we're going to see several of their players! They're good players, and they're also well known figures on the scene for the most part. The majority of them are perfect candidates for this league, and you'd prefer they be excluded because iNcontroL happens to be their caster? Please take a moment to consider the situation more carefully, and rethink your opinions, because as of now you're simply being silly.
(For the record I direct this at no one in particular, but the nay-sayers in general)\

Time to change ROOT.qxc to FXOqxc in the OP

Because Thorzain didn't just dominate Fruitdealer, a former GSL champ.

I think it's kind of funny how people get up in arms about players from EG getting spots in the NASL, when Team Liquid handed out Asian invites to all its players in Korea for the TSL when there were plenty of good Korean players that were equally qualified. Talk about a double standard.

The Haypro hate threads say hi.
I agree with most everyone else in saying that people need to chill until all 50 are announced.
"If you can chill... chill."

Thorzain played great, and FD has been playing like inconsistent crap lately. Neither of whom are indicative of the overall skill level of either scene - and I think anyone who's not delusional knows which scene is leading the pack right now.
Either way, Moon and Ace are good players - not "low lvl Koreans." To the previous guy: is Bomber a low level Korean as well?
On topic: great additions!

Sigh, I just knew someone would take that match result and delude themselves that the foreigner scene is on par with the Korean scene just from that one match.
Oh, and I'd really like to see at least a couple really high-tier koreans - MC, MVP, NesTea, whoever. I'll keep my fingers crossed.

This is a pretty meh lineup as it's missing something like 18 out of the 20 best players in the world. Can't say I'm feeling very excited for NASL at all beyond something like 4 matchups, which I could've seen anyways at MLG and whatnot for free.

so sorry the NASL doesn't live up to your standards, when r u showing your tournament? i'd love to see the lineup u can come up with, stop complaining, if u dont like it dont watch no1 cares about ur opinion

There's few things that I'm really not feeling about NASL. Inviting non-top koreans is really really disappointing when the top seemed to be available. The production seems really poor when taking into consideration the huge prizepool and comparing it to TSL3. And hand picking groups is not fine imo. I understand why they do it, but I believe that above all else the community wants to see the best of the best playing in fair conditions.

And my main gripe is that they could've easily come out with a better lineup -- the entirety of Startale and oGs applied and were willing to compete, all of whose players are better than the majority of the current list.
