[NASL] Players (final) - Page 3
Forum Index > StarCraft 2 Tournaments |
Players such as Jinro, HuK, and Adelscott did not apply for this tour, so don't ask why they aren't on this list. DIMAGA, Kas, and LaLush turned applications in late so they will not appear either. Please take some time to learn who exactly applied. Please inform yourself about who applied and who didn't.

A large prize pool does NOT make a professional tournament, OR promote esports. Looks like a lot of you got fooled. If the tournament turns out to be a big cluster-fuck, who cares about how much money was paid out. It wont do anything but insure that nobody ever puts up that kind of money again. The large prize pool should INSURE they get the small things right. But, up to this point, you have to wonder what they are doing. If not, you're just a fan boy, not a serious supporter of esports.

No, of those 15 the players that are MUST watch IMO are Moon, Idra, and maybe Kiwi. Justin.TV invitational on SC2CASTS.com has about an equal lineup, so far. July, Boxer, Nada, MC, (even Ace) all have better credentials that those chosen so far. (so do Top, Ensnare, Squirtle, Rainbow)...

Darkforce, cruncher and Catz are not top 50 players in my book. Not even close. With this list it looks like we will have a small ammount of koreans. Atleast no more then 5 =( I get that they want mostly players from NA/EU, but it wont be as fun to watch for the audience. Atleast I wont tune in to watch the Darkforce, cruncher and qxc group. That group looks more like the round 32 matchups in some random craftcup tourny.

LOL. That's not what I was addressing. I wouldn't have posted anything about your post if you didn't include the "Please dont fuck up esports, you jerks" line. I don't like their current website either, it's bad. I thought the showmatch could have gone much better. They've said that they have the real website coming and that the showmatch didn't indicate their production values for NASL. I'll continue to provide criticism until that is unveiled and it shows they're correct and can provide those production values. I have zero problem with you pointing out things they're doing poorly. However, when you, someone who has done shit for anyone in esports includes lines like the one I indicated above and suggests the whole thing is just some bad joke, that's just laughable. You literally accused them of potentially fucking up esports and being jerks. Seriously?

I'm really looking forward to NASL, but when the showmatch that served as the announcement was somewhat of a production disaster it was said that it had nothing to do with NASL. When the website came out and it was pretty lacking it was said that it's just a teaser website. When the graphics demonstrating the groups came out and there were issues with both the graphics and the actual content of how players advance, we were warned that it's just a preliminary graphic and not how the actual players will advance. Like I said, I'm really looking forward to NASL and I'm pretty excited to see any news that comes out for it, but every time you release something there's something wrong and there's an excuse to explain it. With the amount of time you have until NASL actually starts, maybe spend some of that time double-checking or triple-checking what actually gets released instead of putting something out there, being dissatisfied with it, and coming up with an explanation for why it's unsatisfactory. As far as the players is concerned, doesn't seem like too many surprises there but I'm happy to see at least Moon is there. He's definitely not a Korean that is going to totally dominate NA/EU, but he did pretty well at IEM. I think it's a little too early to be disappointed about the amount of Koreans as there's still 35 slots left. I hope to finally see Haypro deliver in this league as his performance has been pretty lacking yet he's always hyped up by his teammates.

Anyway, I'm really excited to see these groups, 15 are already up, 3x better then just the 5 I thought I'd see ! Rankings in difficulty so far.. (In my oppinion!) Division 5 (Idra Socke Cloud), Division 1(KiwiKaki Moon Fenix), Division 4(Select HasuObs CatZ), Division 3(KawaiiRice Haypro Naniwa) Division 2 (QXC DarkForce Cruncher) I absolutely cannot wait for this, so excited. Hopefully others will get this excited glow I have. I'm looking forward to the production being good and games involving friends and others I know. For me its like being able to watch a tv show featuring your real life friends. I can't wait ^_^

Also releasing players like this just feels awkward when you release rather mediocre names, "tada! next five players include cruncher and darkforce", does not have the same power as when TSL released it's Korean invites where you really just went "wow".
