[NASL] Players (final) - Page 188
Forum Index > StarCraft 2 Tournaments |
Players such as Jinro, HuK, and Adelscott did not apply for this tour, so don't ask why they aren't on this list. DIMAGA, Kas, and LaLush turned applications in late so they will not appear either. Please take some time to learn who exactly applied. Please inform yourself about who applied and who didn't.

Is it a coincidence that the 'weaker' players for the most part individually represent an otherwise unrepresented team? I'm unsure on Moman's team, but he might be similar. I feel like there is more reasoning behind why these players are being picked than what we're being told. Edit: Maybe i'm wrong. I didn't realize that sixjax was NRG. Nevermind me.

Everyone that's missing is because they didn't apply or didn't do it on time and a few others that were left out is because of race balance and other minor things.. we have a legit 50 player league, several weeks of good games between 50 of the best SC2 players of the world. I will buy the VODS because i think it's worth it, great work guys! No, even if this thread is nearing 200 pages of mostly shit talking and baseless accusations it's still only being generated by a handful of users that take it upon themselves to create drama.

Just unconditional support to our dear leader no matter what for the sake of patriotism? Nah man, doesn't work that way for some of us. We want eSports to be huge in the Western world and if the NASL is doing something worth criticizing, it should be criticized. It's because of our love of eSports that there is so much passion - to stand idly by with blind faith and acceptance is never an option. yes because criticizing our government when it sends people off to die is equivalent to which 50 people will be in the first season of a multi season tournament that will have not one but TWO open qualifiers for next season. We shouldn't just sit idly by but we also shouldn't blow it out of proportion, and in either case we should support all the players that are in and watch the games so that we can have more ESPORTS in the future. @the actual list itself - Its hard for me to see one person on there who doesn't have the results, popularity, or raw skill to be in this league (and most of them have all three). I am entirely too excited for this, I'll probably fail all my classes this semester because there is just so much awesome ESPORTS action to watch!

Hopefully we will see more players like ThisIsJimmy, Minigun, etc in the proposed next one. Or in possibly a more "open" league.

That's the reason I'll be tuning into his games, because I know about the guy much more than most other gamers. Don't stretch things too thin bro, Star league is just taken from OSL and MSL and other stuff from BW because Star is the short way of staying starcraft, same reason idra says star 1 and star 2 instead of Brood war and starcraft 2.

It's unfortunate that NightEnd feels slighted, but I can understand from Xeris' and NASL point of view why they would not consider him for the first season. They have a relatively tight schedule, and there is a very low chance that his VISA situation would be resolved before the start of the tournament. Even if it was possible for NightEnd to get a VISA before the LAN Tournament, it is reasonable for the NASL not to want to bear that risk. Imagine how much worse it would be if NightEnd was accepted, made it to the final 16, and did NOT have his VISA ready. The NASL would have invested time and effort marketing and promoting a tournament with a player that can't even participate. I totally agree with your point, except for one little part. I would not have minded a single second if NASL simply said ''Due to our fear that you might not have the VISA in time well have to exclude you'', but simply disqualifying him because he didnt present the VISA (which was never stated as a condition) and not even explaining the situation with him directly (hey lets just post about it on a public forum) to me feels like a pretty big mistake.

I think this is an odd thing to say, as well, I don't think that stalife, ViBE, and DarKFoRcE have a huge following. Better players tend to be more popular, anyway.

Not really a theory behind that..

InControl didn't word it like he did, but InControl has said one of the main purposes of the NASL is to create Stars--personalities that people become fans of and follow perpetually.

Whats more is I think latency for people playing from Korea/Sea will not be nearly as large as in issue in this tournament with so many games being played. I highly doubt you will see players playing on the NA server for the first time. In fact I think we will see an overall higher level of preparation in general, which means we will see Koreans practicing on the NA server, which is a pretty damn good step toward uniting the communities. The timing couldn't have been better either with top players from each scene facing off in TSL3 and the GSL World Championship. Also, I think the guys behind the scene handled the PR for this much better. They barely said anything this time. People were getting outraged in the thread and they just stayed silent and let the end results speak for themselves. Much better way to do things IMO.
