[NASL] Players (final) - Page 11

Players such as Jinro, HuK, and Adelscott did not apply for this tour, so don't ask why they aren't on this list. DIMAGA, Kas, and LaLush turned applications in late so they will not appear either. Please take some time to learn who exactly applied.

Please inform yourself about who applied and who didn't.

Honestly the best decision the NASL could make is stop interacting with the community. They've done everything they can to give people a say and people whine like crazy...so they appease and than people cry that they appeased!

I just want to say thanks to NASL for dropping everything they are doing in there lives to attempt to give me something i LOVE...Competitive starcraft. If you fail i'll be sad but for fucks sake THANK YOU. And if you succeed and make a buck, congratulations. Either way i get more starcraft for doing absolutely nothing...

No but he's definitely shown much better results than most of players in North America.

I hate to say this, but I think this was their mistake. Interacting with the community and also the voting gave people false hope, regardless if they said that they were not going to pick players based off it, that they might have the influence to get their favorite player in the league.

Thorzain was just an "average" euro, as was Hasuobs in the eyes of many people. They proved everyone wrong on the first round of TSL already. Of course we also had Ciara...

I think (most of) these guys deserve to have a shot, and are capable of producing some excellent games. There's still 35 spots left, plenty of room for the korean all-stars.

Contrary to what seems to be the majority opinion, I don't really care about purposely inviting the Koreans. To me, they have their own dedicated, big-payout league to play in. I think the focus for NASL should be for the rest of the world. That's not to say if they want to fly here and play they won't be allowed, but I'd rather see foreign pro gamers supported more strongly.

I'd rather see some out of the blue fringe-pro-amateur gamers out there win and get money than some pro Korean.

(so do Top, Ensnare, Squirtle, Rainbow)...

Oh so you want the GSL?

No, he wants a tournament of highly skilled players. You know, the best players in the world?

Right.. He named all Koreans that can be found nightly watching a GSL. This isn't the GSL. That's my point, and it was never advertised to be the GSL.

"BEST PLAYERS IN THE WORLD" I think we all remember that. None of us are asking for a Korean dominated tournament, but almost completely excluding them turns the NASL into the North American Average Player Starleague.

If players like Darkforce, Catz, Cruncher and KawaiiRice get in, I also expect Nestea, July, MC, MVP, Boxer and Nada.

This "Best Players in the World" talk is like crying because someone lied to you. Yeah they HYPED their new league, yeah they said the best players in the world would be there. So what? All leagues in the world say that! There are great players there, some of them probably ARE amongst the best in the world. Just accept it won't be all filled with Koreans and a few foreigners (cause any other combination would still be accused of not being the best in the world) and recognize the quality of players that are being invited.

I don't want it to be filled with Koreans, but only ONE was announced among 15, some of whom are arguably not among the top players, even in their respective region. Like others, it is a little bit worrying that players like Darkforce (not even a top5 EU zerg in my book) can be invited where as some very good Koreans are cut.

Well I have read many posts saying Darforce is top5, top3 zerg in Europe, so it is clear that each person has a different book. The NASL has reasons for choosing as it does, reasons that they need not even explain (if they do, good for them).

I don't think you can name 5 better zergs than darkforce in Europe atm.

Also I think it had been very clear from the beginning that NASL take more into account than just player skill so I don't understand how this comes as a chock to some people. Did they honestly think we would have like 40 Koreans or something?

Why shouldn't it have 40 Koreans? Are they not 'The Best Players the World Has Seen'? I don't get it, it seems like you guys don't even want the best players, you just want a bunch of average (when being compared to Koreans) NA/Euros

We already have the tournament you're speaking of, check out www.gomtv.net.
That's where most of the people go when they want to see 99% Koreans play.

I like how people are all going on about "Owww foreign e-sports is getting huge" and then go "awww, why aren't there 90% koreans in that north american star league?!"

I'd have way more fun watching a NASL full of foreign players with like 5-10 koreans than watching GSL... I never was as excited as last weekend watching TSL3 when it comes to sc2.

We want the NASL, we don't choose their philosophy. If they decide that bringing in 40 Koreans is what they want, great. If not, hey its their call and it is still great.

There is a misconception that this is the people's league just cause the NASL is more open to the fans. It is not. We can only voice our wants. But random criticism cause their decision doesn't reflect personal views is annoying. Don't like it? Don't watch it.

Why should there only be 1 tournament like the GSL? In BW we had OSL MSL, and sometimes WCG and GOM tourneys. Why do foreigners deserve the biggest prize pool in SC2? They are getting rewarded for not being the best? wtf? that is ridiculous. The "hurp derp we already have that tourney its called gsl" argument is absolutely retarded, the more competitions there are with top koreans, the harder the foreigners will want to compete to become a part of that. they will practice and train harder and eventually be able to compete with Koreans. Do you just want it to turn into BW again, completely segregated between foreigners and Koreans, or do you want to see your favorite players battling it out on the world's top stage?

I feel the need to stand up for my player here. Alot of commentors are jumping on the 'why Cruncher' bandwagon and I don't think that's fair. The guy beat Fenix in a bo3 for the TL Open. He recently beat PainUser, SjoW and LzGaMeR in bo7 series. He hasn't had many opportunities to prove himself yet but has done well in almost every shot he has been given.

Keep your eyes on him in 2011. He's going to be a solid player, regardless whether or not he has the "big name" forum fans like to see.

After the first season his critics will be silent anyway after he finishes in front of many NA fan favorites. I am pretty sure of that.

I worry too much. Half of the people commenting here do not follow the SC2 scene outside of GSL so they wouldn't know that. Some don't even know who Cruncher is to begin with other than he's some guy who qualify for TSL and 4-gates a lot.

I updated the infamous list with those who are in.

Niice job uncovering the first 15, guys! :D

Thank you very much for the awesome list!! I would love to see a list showing top $ for each race. Its jokes how when checking it out, other pple click on the obvious funny stuff on that site like how much mc and fruitdealer made and how july's elo is higher than mc.
