Would be nice if everybody stopped making random sweeping generalizations after every post.

And of course beating someone does not necessarily make you a 'better' player than him but I'd rather be the 'worse' player and walk away with the win than the other way around. Shit happens, let's hope HuK does a decent job in the GSL and good luck to Socke in the remainder of the tournament.
There is no spoon.

This is funny. Guys, huk lost 2 games, its not a big deal. On top of that it was cheese, and its PvP and we all know how unpredictable that matchup is. No need to freak out lol
Morrow on ZvP: "I'm not very confident in general vs Protoss because of the imbalance (Yes its imbalanced, get over it)."

Socke should apply for that foreigner house, if he hasn't already. He seems to have nerves of steel. I didn't understand HuK's thinking in that game.

I think ima wait for GSL code A match ups.

What? Did you even watch Code A last time? Most of those games, excluding TOP's, were unbearable. These games have looked much better and players like Morrow, Ret, Socke, AdelScott are on their game.

Did you even look at the Code A lineup for next month... Most of the best players from GSTL are in it... Pretty ignorant statement right there.

Yeah it's insane, could easily be almost as hard as Code S, maybe even as hard/harder with some players. Nobody in the world would have an easy time with that tournament.

And, in a weird twist of Irony, it's 2 PvZs in the Semi-finals. There's a good chance the only 2 Zergs in the Ro16 could meet for a ZvZ final. Wouldn't that be weird.

who's in Code A again?

Sry dude but there are no good players in Code A. If Huk makes it out of there it will mean something. Code A is for the likes of BitByBit.Prime

Also Socke has achieved more in Europe than Huk in NA

This statement about Code A says a lot about the parochialism of some people who only follow one scene of Starcraft. Just letting you know, there is SC2 going on all around the world, and just 'cause you only follow mid-tier low-prizepool EU tournies doesn't mean that the guys who win those are anywhere close to Code A material (ST_Squirtle, IMLosira etc. anyone?)

I can assure you I follow more than 1 scene of SC 2. In fact I have all the GSL vods on my pc. And pointing out 2 players does not make Code A good - the games played there were mostly cheese with some terrible fails. The players who were above the rest have moved to Code S.
If you were following the recent tournaments you would know that some of the best games were produced by players outside Code A - IM Seed, ST Bomber etc..

IF you followed the Korean scene at all, you'd know that Code A players absolutely destroyed Code S players throughout the GSTL. It wasn't even close; 10-2 or something similar.

In fact, Code A is probably the tougher tournament at the moment, the top half of Code A might be better than the top two thirds of Code S.

This made me laugh. Yes Canada is in America. The standard definition for american is people who live in the Unites States. You can justify however u want but for Canadians, canadian =! american.

Most Europeans use seem to use America to refer to the whole of North America (or at least US + Canada), from my experiences here. Take that as you will.

congratz to Socke to what I consider a deserved win. He outmicroed Huk in game 1 (and took advantage of Huk's decision to keep attacking with a smaller force), took a risk in game 2 (while still trying to play a micro orientated blink stalker play, whereas Huk simply got colossi and a-moved) and lost.

Game 3 I first thought, please don't do this Socke. But seeing Huk's terrible response, Socke really deserved the win!

Ret is gonna roflstomp everyone now!

I dunno why Huk saying he was the best player there was bad. Nothing against the other people, but he actually moved to Korea and practices every day against the very best players in the entire world. He gets to practice with Nada, MC, TOP, Inca, and everyone in OGS. His whole life is Starcraft. He feels like he should be able to beat anyone due to the training he receives. There would be no point moving his life halfway across the world if he doesn't truly believe he is better than the people who stay at home and practice. Not saying he IS better than everyone at the tournament, but he's a very good player.

Also everyone talking about, 'Wow, Huk only got into Code A because he got seeded!' That is so short minded. Don't you guys remember when Jinro didn't even get into the Top 64 of the first two GSL's? Then he got into the third and has had BACK-TO-BACK TOP FOUR FINISHES. People like Bomber, who is considered one of the best players in the entire world by all the Koreans, isn't even in Code A! People act like getting into the GSL is an easy thing to do. It's all based on luck of the draw.

Luck of the draw?
This why Idra qualify everytime despite playing the easiest race to cheese?
Artosis qualified for the first GSL as Zerg as well.

Comparing the talent pool from the first GSL to now is ridiculous. Artosis didn't even get past the first round this time in Code A. And yes, a lot of it is luck of the draw.

And Idra hasn't had to qualify for a while. Neither has Jinro. The talent in the GSL improves every season with new players popping up. Some of the talent in the GSTL even can't get into Code A.

For me personally, the level of SC2 was raised by GSTL and now watching anything that is on a standard map pool is incredibly boring (for the most part).

There is a difference between supporting TL players and insulting anyone they lose to.

The former is expected but the latter is juvenile and reflects badly on the whole community.

I haven't seen too many insults really.

Unless you find it insulting to call that last game "strategy" cheese (and on the worst map imaginable). Or that people consider Huk to be a better player regardless of losing, which is a very valid opinion to have.

I wasn't that upset when Jinro lost to MC in the GSL, because at that point it kind of made sense and MC was clearly the better player. But I'm gutted that once again Huk gets punished for the smallest of mistakes and loses in the worst possible way, and yes it does seem unfair from my (fan) point of view.
