Lots of games, someone made a huge blunder... and the other player makes an even bigger blunder, and gives the game back to the other.. =/ But yep. Stopped streaming assembly. meh. Maybe it'll be more fun to watch next time. When it doesnt feel like watching diamond league streams. Pretty ironic since these games are better than most of the Code A games you seem to value so highly. Stop being an asshole just because theres no Americans left and Huk lost to a European. I havent seen the Code A games before, only going to follow it now because of foreigner influx. But really. Let me remember what I saw in the last 48 hours or so 1. Half scvs stopped mining after banshee harass 2. Queen chasing overlord halfway across the map 3. 1 Pylon powering 4 gateways 4. Zerg army split with one half attacking a cannon and pylons (and the other half getting owned) And that's just off the top of my head. Guess which top europeans played thosee games. If you've been following Assembly, you should know. =) The number 2 was awesome

I used to really like Socke but he just lost points here... ![]() Let's hope Ret wins this now! In his last interviews, it sure sounded like he'd need such a motivation boost. That was PvP, the standard is PvP is generally some form of 1 basing or cheesing. Socke played extremely well and forced huk to make the mistake in the last game. He was the better player this series. Simple as that. Stop insulting him saying he is inferior. There is no such thing as a "standard macro game". I'm sure Huk will bounce back. It's a tough thing going out due to PvP which I think he his worse matchup(?). Just because he lost doesn't mean he is bad, these players are all close in skill and anyone can win a series.

I think Huk has the best mechanics and micro, but his over-reliance on them was also his downfall here. Socke vastly outplayed Huk in the metagame aspect on games 1 and 3.

He beat Huk in a straight up match in game 1... pretty handily i might add. He lost okay, that doesn't mean hes bad, that doesn't mean anything. Socke is a good player and played some pretty amazing games against Huk. And on the topic of the cheese that he pulled, it was executed really well, and even when huk had cannons up for defense socke kept his cool and picked off the vulnerable buildings. He played really well.

Kas, Sjow and maybe Strelok and Naama are the only ones who were everytime on the top. Just look at play by some terrans like SarenS - he had worse macro than Grubby. There is much too learn for Terrans from now on, Protoss learned to play against them. Zerg most likely also. Maps will make it much worse. I honestly dont expect many Terran Winners in the next big european tournaments. Or terran will get biffed . Toss didnt exactly learn"to play vs terran on their own, they too were buffed along the way, and terran was nerfed. then you obviously didnt follow what dustin browder had to say about terran lately. and tell me 1 unit that got buffed for protoss vs terran...

The former is expected but the latter is juvenile and reflects badly on the whole community. I haven't seen too many insults really. Unless you find it insulting to call that last game "strategy" cheese (and on the worst map imaginable). Or that people consider Huk to be a better player regardless of losing, which is a very valid opinion to have. I wasn't that upset when Jinro lost to MC in the GSL, because at that point it kind of made sense and MC was clearly the better player. But I'm gutted that once again Huk gets punished for the smallest of mistakes and loses in the worst possible way, and yes it does seem unfair from my (fan) point of view. the problem is that cheese is used by all players because you sometimes got to switch it up. i dont know if u follow broodwar but even starleague winners used CHEESE in the final just to throw of people right from the start or in the last match where nobody would expect that. i seriously do not enjoy the trend to bash every player that uses a cheesy strategy in a longer series -.-

So much better than a PvP and ZvZ. As for players, i'm hoping for Ret v Socke, with Ret winning it all. For bronze i'm hoping for Adelscot since his play recently has been really solid. Funny we all know who idra is NOT rooting for .

It means Huk's metagame is weak, and his is too dependent on his mechanics and micro. But unless you are 10x better than your opponent at that, you can't overcome a serious deficiency in the metagame. I don't think you know the meaning of the word metagame.
