I think ima wait for GSL code A match ups. What? Did you even watch Code A last time? Most of those games, excluding TOP's, were unbearable. These games have looked much better and players like Morrow, Ret, Socke, AdelScott are on their game. Did you even look at the Code A lineup for next month... Most of the best players from GSTL are in it... Pretty ignorant statement right there.
There were plenty of games in the GSTL that were full of mistakes. Sure code A have a higher top than a tournament like this, but the players we are seeing today isn't that far (if at all) behind the rest below them.

And internet dies in assembly. Glad there wasn't any games going on..

Socke picking Steppes of war and cheesing like he did is equivalent to admitting he's an inferior player who can't take on HuK in a straight up match.
While I agree that he's not in the same skill-class, it's is very disappointing that he didn't even try to prove himself given such a nice opportunity. I used to really like Socke but he just lost points here...
Let's hope Ret wins this now! In his last interviews, it sure sounded like he'd need such a motivation boost.

There's a good chance the only 2 Zergs in the Ro16 could meet for a ZvZ final. Wouldn't that be weird.
That would make Morrow and Ret fucking badasses.

Didt see the Huk vs Socke game, but its sad that HuK didnt make it.. was watching Morrow vs Tarson... GOGO MorroW!:D

Jibba talked about the code A that was and he is pretty much spot on, alot of the games were just bad, not even tastosis could muster up enough legitimate excitement for most games. The coming code a though you'd need to see into the future to predict and Jibba said nothing about being able to do such thing

The ignorant here is you, he is talking about the last code A wich you clearly didn't watch, the last code A was horrible to watch except by some TOP's games... No one knows if the next Code A is going to be good..

Hope he does better next time, EU players arent as bad as HuK thought they were who's in Code A again? Sry dude but there are no good players in Code A. If Huk makes it out of there it will mean something. Code A is for the likes of BitByBit.Prime Also Socke has achieved more in Europe than Huk in NA This statement about Code A says a lot about the parochialism of some people who only follow one scene of Starcraft. Just letting you know, there is SC2 going on all around the world, and just 'cause you only follow mid-tier low-prizepool EU tournies doesn't mean that the guys who win those are anywhere close to Code A material (ST_Squirtle, IMLosira etc. anyone?) I can assure you I follow more than 1 scene of SC 2. In fact I have all the GSL vods on my pc. And pointing out 2 players does not make Code A good - the games played there were mostly cheese with some terrible fails. The players who were above the rest have moved to Code S. If you were following the recent tournaments you would know that some of the best games were produced by players outside Code A - IM Seed, ST Bomber etc.. IF you followed the Korean scene at all, you'd know that Code A players absolutely destroyed Code S players throughout the GSTL. It wasn't even close; 10-2 or something similar. In fact, Code A is probably the tougher tournament at the moment, the top half of Code A might be better than the top two thirds of Code S.
TY for posting that, I was about to comment on the same thing. There are only a few exceptions to the rule however. I think many people are going to be surprised with how well they play in the upcoming GSL.

At the end of the day, Huk's loss shows that his metagame is weak. It's just like poker, and what do you know -- the poker and starcraft communities are somewhat intertwined. On a deciding game, on Steppes of War, there's a strong chance of cheese.
I don't remember how many chronoboosts Huk used on his probes, but blowing them all on probes is very risky on such a map without first scouting for a proxy.
I also think Huk was overconfident coming into this tournament, as evidenced by his unsolid play the 1st game.

Pretty amateur. Their micro was HORRIBLE. Lots of games, someone made a huge blunder... and the other player makes an even bigger blunder, and gives the game back to the other.. =/
But yep. Stopped streaming assembly. meh. Maybe it'll be more fun to watch next time. When it doesnt feel like watching diamond league streams. Pretty ironic since these games are better than most of the Code A games you seem to value so highly. Stop being an asshole just because theres no Americans left and Huk lost to a European.
I havent seen the Code A games before, only going to follow it now because of foreigner influx.
But really.
Let me remember what I saw in the last 48 hours or so
1. Half scvs stopped mining after banshee harass
2. Queen chasing overlord halfway across the map
3. 1 Pylon powering 4 gateways
4. Zerg army split with one half attacking a cannon and pylons (and the other half getting owned)
And that's just off the top of my head.
Guess which top europeans played thosee games. If you've been following Assembly, you should know. =)

But I'm gutted that once again Huk gets punished for the smallest of mistakes and loses in the worst possible way, and yes it does seem unfair from my (fan) point of view.[/QUOTE]
Wasn't it quite a big mistake from Huk? And if you dont want players to be punished for their mistakes, how do you want a winner to be decided ?

Just shows to every european and american player, that you can win with zerg.

Five more games, Morrow. 1 2 3 4 5. Bring home another trophy and then go Protoss to get the trifecta.

Kas, Sjow and maybe Strelok and Naama are the only ones who were everytime on the top. Just look at play by some terrans like SarenS - he had worse macro than Grubby. There is much too learn for Terrans from now on, Protoss learned to play against them. Zerg most likely also. Maps will make it much worse. I honestly dont expect many Terran Winners in the next big european tournaments.
Or terran will get biffed . Toss didnt exactly learn"to play vs terran on their own, they too were buffed along the way, and terran was nerfed.

Ret will freaking destroy if he gets a ZvZ finals, so here's hoping

see it positive, terranplayers. that does reduce the chances of upcoming nerfs a bit.

Huk you still think you`r the best there? buehehehehee
EU > NA
