There is nothing super greedy about 14 hatch. He needs creep and larva to defend 2rax pressure without being put seriously behind the instant MVP lands his expo CC. 14 hatch is pretty greedy with how the meta game is, and in those positions on LT. He should have done something safer. Something safer? You mean something that would put him so far behind without MVP even having to attack that it would make the game basically unwinnable against a terran of MVP's caliber? Of course there's risk involved in 14 hatching. FD knows this. FD also knows there's risk involved no matter what build he chooses. 14 hatch is just as legitimate as any ridiculous 1base build, and FD has plenty of those as well. Just because you're 1basing doesn't mean you're safe. Not even remotely.
21 hatch would have been fine imho

Bo3 for Code A and group format for Code S Ah okay I'm just not used to reading that kind of thing....haven't followed sports before and SC:BW I just loosely watched replays. Trying to understand this format thing.

I think that If they haven't announced that Tasteless is no longer the observer people wouldn't even notice but now some posters just complain for the sake of it.

I wasn't talking about hatch first at all, I was talking about him droning way too hard for those positions. 8 lings and 1 spine isn't going to help against that kind of pressure, sorry.

Yeah, that bad.

Depends on whether you value game sense, and from who's perspective.

2 rax pressure vs early hatch and a crucial defensive mistake from FD. Underwhelming and over fast.

But its not safer, speed for lings comes too late and you don't have enough larvae to have enough lings to defend if you spot a 2 rax. 14 hatching in itself is not what is risky, droning like crasy is.

+ Show Spoiler +MVP 2 raxes, FD takes 14 hatch I think and places his spine crawler poorly. MVP punishes him for it and wins.

It's not Bo1, it is Bo3. You need 2 wins to advance, you need 2 losses to drop out. Exacly the same as last years GSL format, except here the opponent changes after every match (usually).
