Just quit bitching about balance all the time guys and play the damn game! Also, jesus.. Foxer is beast. MVP too :D these two guys, young, talented, just like MC... these 3 guys will be the future of scII On December 25 2010 04:25 mango_destroyer wrote: Had MarineKing and MVP not played first I am pretty sure the results would be much different. Could anyone really see Clide or Rain or Rainbow all-kill? I don`t. So true. Its the players not the game. oGsMC could probably have done the same to Terran or Zerg... Terran has two players of this caliber.

The game will not stay at it's current setup and a few games means nothing.

None of the P/Z's played that well vs Terran. You can tell Foxer was just a better player than the P's throughout the series. He had better control, macro, decision-making, strategies, etc. Most of Foxer's strategies are either A. aggressive pressure or B. fast expand. He fully commits to these strategies, unlike the Protoss who can't decide whether they want to attack or expand. It's the commitment that makes the strategies strong, like MCs games. MVP was a Terran in BW so he had tons of experience with tanks and positioning and he used that to his advantage, easily crushing most of the Z's. Most of the Zergs just 1a'ed their army into his tank lines too, not much flanking or anything impressive. With the HQ vids, you can tell most pros group their armies into 1-2 control groups max. That's why when they 1a their armies into tanks, they all get blown up. Terrans like MVP/Foxer have learned to split their marines, Zergs likewise need to learn to split up their army and attack from multiple angles. Or how about T's using marauders/Thor to shield the marines? Z can send in a few single lings or roach to draw the first tank shots. It's clear T's have evolved greatly while Zergs are still doing the same old things and complaining about imba.

People argue that this is because they fall off late game, but we can all see from Jinro and European macro terran play that this is not the case. So why are Terran so good early game? There's really no reason. Because Blizzard has to sell the copies of SC2 and not every casuals/non-pros want 30 mins+, 3+ base games. They just want to make stuff and send them out to see what happens. Usually no expos. (Really one of reasons why the Zerg isn't played by as many people) Terrans being the introductory race, most people start with it and Blizzard has to cater those people. They don't want to sit in their base for 20 mins worrying about larvae counts.

So by your definition its fine to ruin yet another amazing and complex game to appeal to casual gamers who won't even be playing the game past two months? Your logic is infallible sir. Go play Call of Duty.

I think the only thing we can conclude is that active pro BW players that switched over to SC2 are in fact the best players around right now.

Agreed except on that part about mvp being the best bw transitioning to sc2, that's a big no no.

So you're one of those people that think Nada and Boxer were the best? They were good for their time, but would have gotten roflstomped by MVP in BW. If you count

The roster was probably decided based on people willing to play. Since there are no oGs on the roster, it was probably a decision for them not to participate (even though oGs used to play on Gisado a lot). Anyhow, there are a number of "probably"s in there.

It was the second game so I doubt it was just Idra's SC1 history.

The Rest are all Closed now? VODs are labelled "closed" to avoid spoilers. All VODs are here if I'm not mistaken.
