Why should they have advanced to the finals? They lose. if you lose, you shouldn't advance to the finals. It's that simple.
You should not have to pay to watch the GSL, Proleague, or OSL at a reasonable time. That is not "fine" and it's BS to say otherwise. My sig since 2011. http://www.youtube.com/user/dabom88

Well, you know what happened: OGS offered Jinro 10% of the prize money if he let MC win, but Jinro didn't take the offer, so someone on OGS leaked his build orders to Wikileaks – but before they could publish them, Jinro called a few friends in Sweden and got Assange arrested, but then the Korean head of state approached Jinro and asked him, for the good of the game, to lose.

Really, that's what happened.
In my head, I'm a 1500 Diamond player. In reality, I don't even know what that means. I don't play SC2. I just watch.

Part of it was probably that Jinro & MC play each other too much, and MC just knew Jinro's style too well. But, grats to MC. I had a feeling MC was going to win, but was really pulling for Jinro. Though we still get to see Jinro in Code S in January and can root for an oGs-TL member in the finals!

that was the brainbox team tournament, i believe that was against werra, a little flashback to his suicide toss days but this time with the skill to back it up.

Man...MC amazes me....he makes stalkers look OP which is saying something.. x_X
I see toss players falling left and right to early aggression/all in and timing pushes, but MC just doesn't care..lol.....

My only worry for MC not taking the finals is if Tester, SangHo, and Clide develop some insane anti-MC/anti-toss build, probably centered around stopping that early aggression..after all Rain has already stated in interviews twice that his teammates have planned his games for him..

no sorry. hes up there with genius and InCa but TesteR has always and will always be the protoss leader.

While I absolutely love Tester, you're forgetting that Tester has failed to qualify twice for seasons 2 and 3.

he could've won that last game if he played it safe and moved his command center on the side of the map rather than straight down the middle, forgetting about sentries and stalkers

You know, when you play on a ladder up there in a diamond and you've been facing even opponents forever and then all of a sudden you get a "Favored" one for some unknown reason. It's like getting hit by a truck. That's what happened to Jinro today. Sorry for him

Diversified his play a little and teched or built a bigger army before expanding maybe. Aggressive play beats expansion-focused play. That's how the game is balanced.

I think Rain will have much bigger chance than Jinro. Jinro probably played a bit too predictable, and MC took full advantage of it and showed a well rounded mix of aggressive strats. And unless you have the perfect counter for it ready you're often gonna lose. Really their playstyles are pretty similar, both play heavy 1base plays and always seem to have some early game plan to attack rather than the popular "sit back and scout and adapt to what the enemy is doing". Rain is probably gonna do the same thing back to MC, a lot of different heavy 1 base plays. And that will make it come down to exactly what 1base plays counters the others. I predict a pretty close final. And as much as people liketo bash Rain and hail MC, do you really think MC wouldn't 2rax scv allin half the time against Z if he played T? Considering his playstyle as P, I have no doubt bout that at least.

Overall it seems like the way to win GSL is to play aggressive but not predictable. As P, mix stuff up between VR rushes, DT rushes, heavy gateway pressure (3/4-gate) or proxy gateways. As T, do a thor rush, a cloak banshee rush, 3rax push, proxy rax's. Then also add the fact that you can mostly hide all those pushes by placing buildings around the map, or giving the enemy false info by cancelling buildings or so. How exactly are you gonna be ready for all those rushes?

I mean, how many games have we seen MC, Rain or HongUn go past 2 bases? How many games has MC openened the typical "safe" build, 2/3gate-robo, getting an observer out, scout and adapt? Zero? A cloaked banshee would've raped half MCs builds, but instead MC forces adaption upon the opponent by playing agressive himself. Obviously Jinro made it to the semis so we shouldn't count that way of playing out yet, but it just seems so dependable on getting perfect scouting info done. And from what I've seen FEing has been a huge risk most GSL, people are too good at busting them with timing attacks.

Well, by 'should have' I mean, they are far better players than both Hongun and Rain. I realize they lost, but they are still much better and would make a better series than the 4-0 thrashing both Jinro and Rain did/will get.

I thought Jinro was one of the better players when it came to scouting and adapting his play. It's just you need time to do that, else you're adapting to the fact that you lost

It takes more than being better--it takes being better at the right time. Just like with MC and Jinro. We all see their beastliness now, but the first few seasons it just wasn't their time yet.
