holllly crap....that was a terrible set of games......-_-
Nestea v Rain was just so disappointing... another bitbybitstyle cheesefest... and FD v HongUn...well im happy a P made it to round of 4 but honestly...FD played terrible, why he refused to macro I don't know...
sigh...I think the winner is gonna be determined in Foxer/MC and winner vs Jinro
really hope MC can pull through tomorrow with some exciting games
I have to wonder though...what would have happened if FD had played rain and Nestea had played HongUn

That was not a very impressive series :|

Now that there are no more zergs, expect more macro games. No more games that will only last for 5-7 mins, I guarantee.

cant wait for free observers, phoenix build time without fungal as a counter, and faster bunkers
at the same time, zerg late game when going untouched seems OP on the other end (vs terran at least), and it seems incredibly hard to fix both these things lol I am absolutely glad that at least some top-level Zerg finally said that out loud. The game is really difficult to balance at the present. I am sure every other Zerg in this thread needs to read this loud and every player in general needs to read it. Starcraft II cannot be balanced overnight. If it could, all of us would be working for Blizzard and earning awesome salaries. Especially with the meta-game being what it is right now, there is no way Blizzard can JUST fix something to keep somebody happy. I know this is not going to stop everybody from QQing but if at least some people learn and are able to appreciate the game at some level instead of QQing every bloody thread, I will be a happy man.
But you could start with making decent maps instead of all those garbage luck based backdoor and position imbalance? Then you could start twinkering numbers.

I felt FD felt extremely unconfident going to macro/late agasint protoss.
g1. toss guy bascially throws the game away. g2. failed banling bust..... g3. Wins by one base timing push. g4. Goes for a ling/roach bust.

Really? Making a robo and 25/75 is free?
Unlike making that hugely prohibitive structure, the Lair, and morphing an overseer/dropping a changeling. Or the 100 mineral ovie sac.
No, robo is obviously free, done before the second pylon, and shits out observers for no cost.
Let's all listen to progamers, who make such reasoned, unbiased and clearheaded statements.
rofl your an idiot. Fast lair loses to 4 gate, while the robo build can still work for a timing attack. So basically, observer is free.

well at least (in theorycraft land) TvP s are less prone to cheese....

Yea in the interview, FD said his best matchup is ZvT while Nestea is better in ZvZ and ZvP

Why the hell do you count robotics cost in observer lol? May I say that overseer is pool + lair + overseer? Isn't that stupid? Actually observer is like free map hack, and a lot of top players (even toss players) agree that it's nonsense to lower their cost.

That's the last of my favorite players gone - seems they always lose the last game in a very unsatisfying manner. Unscouted DTs, SCV marine all-ins, close metalopolis, etc... Horrible to watch.
Guess I'll just root for oGsMC, would be nice for a protoss to win, and he'd be my pick. (Also, MarineKing needs to be removed asap)

Well, now that my zerg hopes have been dashed, I shall throw my support to the foreigner, who could make this truly the strangest SC/SC2 tourney seen in a lonnnnnnng time.
Goooooooo Jinro!
|
I play zerg and am happy about the races going forward. 2 previous gsl's had zergs win, for the sake of the tournament we needed some other race to have a shot at taking the title. Now regarding todays games, overall lackluster.

Whoa. Whoa. WHOA. That was some brilliant play by HongUnPrime.
The game #1 was fairly bad/risky, but rest of the games were good, in my opinion. In Shakuras plateau HungOnPrime just didn't watch out for his back door and it...backfired, haha.
Game #4 was one of the most EPIC defences I've seen from a protoss. I would have simply given up when the roaches and lings were EATING trough the buildings. And game #5... whoa, risky. However apparently both players know each other and someone said that FD gets late lair, maybe HungOnPrime abused that knowledge? I don't know enough zerg play to judge that.
Anyway, got a PROTOSS into Ro4, epic! And I'm sorry Zergs, but 2 GSL wins is enough It still may be bit too much to wish for that the finals will be PvP, but at least Jinro has good chance of winning!

MC says he has a 95% win rate against terran, that is sick
|
Also, LOL! at Day9's twitter. He pretty much says out loud what some of us normal people (Read: Not Korean Fanboys) have been saying ever since Dreamhack where a lot of Korean fans started QQing in that thread too. Not that FD and Nestea are bad, but there are never enough Macro games in GSL. I want something like Game 3 of the Dreamhack finals. Yes it was slow and all that but it was also beautiful to see the positioning of tanks and the response from Naama.
That is why most of us like Jinro too. He has everything in his game and his positioning (which is what makes Terran great in the first place) is really amazing to watch. Go!Go!Go! Jinro.

It's the protoss games that is generally short.

Also, didn't FD say he had like 35% winrates in training? Magic numbers don't mean anything.
