How does the tournaments for Brawl / Reach work? Do we just bring our own controller? Is there prizes? Does the $15 cover the entry fee for every tournament and is it possible to do multiple tournaments? | ||

Bo1 with Double elimination really isn't much faster than Bo3 Single Elimination considering all the extra bracket work and making sure certain matches get played before you can do the losers bracket etc etc. (this of course for the sc2 tourny) | ||

What was that clan war format.. wasn't it like 4 1v1 matches and one 2v2 match? be better if the tournament was bo3, i'm pretty concerned about the amount of cheese there will be in 1v1. Especially if Steppes is in the rotation. iSin it'd be nice to know a couple things.. -how the map pool will be handled. Would be nice to be able to vote down maps. The map pool's better than it used to be, but i'd still hate to roll certain maps in certain matchups. -time the SC2 tournament starts approx. | ||

I'm Tom, the lead admin for BSG, and I completely forgot about posting the thread here. If you're having registration issues, feel free to email me directly - tom@bigshotgaming.com and I will get you sorted out. Additionally, some SC2 specific stuff just so everyone's aware - 1. The SC2 winner will get both the Psyko headset as well as a Das Keyboard (every tournament except GoldenEye 007 is gonna get a Das Keyboard for first place) 2. We are not releasing a maplist before the LAN. Sorry! 3. We will be seeding players according to their battle.net rankings. 4. Starcraft II will be taking place Friday night. 5. The format is 1v1 double-elim - no best out of 3 for finals (unless you guys threaten to lynch me, SLP took a really long time and we've got a TON of other tournaments to run) If anyone's got any more specific questions, just post them here in the thread and I'll be checking this regularly.  We are definitely open to hearing what you guys DON'T want to play, if you have suggestions and can come to a consensus on it - I know there's a few maps that are very conducive to cheese strats, and we'd like to avoid people being cheesed out of the tournament at all costs. | ||

And how are you seeding it? Top ranked plays the lowest ranked first? With that setup you're probably just discouraging a lot of people from playing. #1 seeded against #2 would be even worse. Seeding probably isn't necessarily a negative thing. It seems like a neutral feature that doesn't have a clear purpose since you're also doing double elim. It seems like a lot of extra work managing seed information for no gain. | ||

Best out of three will definitely be there for the finals - semifinals will have to be a decision made the day of the LAN depending entirely on attendance for this tournament. I'm not sure on the seeding - you're right in that there are issues with seeding by ranking, but I think a degree of randomosity within each tier would be fine. It's hard to say - I'll try to come up with an answer on this in the next few days. The maplist will be as follows, rotated by round: Shakuras Plateau Jungle Basin Blistering Sands Scrap Station Steppes of War Xel'Naga Caverns Delta Quadrant Lost Temple Metalopolis It'll be going top-down, so it's entirely possible that Lost Temple and Metalopolis will never be played. If you're going to practice, practice the maps from the top-down. Is this fair enough for you guys? | ||

Also I havent been in the brawl loop for a while, but tom you seem pretty cool/flexible(/uninformed) about the ruleset for the SC2 league, if you wanna post or link the brawl ruleset I'm sure me and a couple other people on the forums could help you out incase its got some issues, the brawl community is pretty picky | ||

TF2 and SCII are my real concerns; everything else is secondary. I can tell you that there are going to be some items, and it's going to be a FFA tournament. Users aren't aware that there's an activation email. There's no message shown on the screen after you register and not everyone checks their email. Additionally, there are no sorts of error messages whatsoever. Hehe, this might be a good idea in the future. I'm looking forward to attend this tournament though and am very grateful you guys are hosting it | ||

Of particular note to you guys is the SC2 start time - we're going to be starting right at 8PM Friday evening, so we need you there by 7:30 at the latest for SC2 tournament registration. If you can't be there by 7:30, email us at bigshot@bigshotgaming.com (don't use my email address; I'm not the one creating the brackets) and let us know that you're playing and an approximate time of when you're going to arrive - we'd like this tournament to run pretty quickly. If you guys have any other issues, let me know. | ||
