it was game sense actually, hard to believe that idra has any, but hes definitely improved a lot for this tourney.

Yeah, it seemed like he really knew the timings he needed to stop the dropship harass, like he kept making drones almost exclusively until he knew he needed units to defend.

Regarding the crowd and HuK's mothership:
When the game began, the big screen showing the match wasn't showing the game. It was showing a view of HuK. So people began chanting "Show the game! Show the game!" That's what caused HuK to ask what we were chanting, and then Select to speculate that we were chanting "Mothership". We weren't, although I could see how it might sound that way.
Of course, once the crowd saw Select say that, THEN they began chanting it. :-)
I just think that's slightly ironic that had HuK not said anything, the mothership chant never would have started and I suspect he probably wouldn't have built it.

I missed that. Who said what exactly?

Overall thought: Rough start at the beginning, but everything smoothed out and turned into an amazing event.

Incontrol didn't talk "mad crap" on select like this fanboy seems to think. All he said was that he wasn't very impressed by him but reinforced that he is indeed a hard working, good player but not as dominant as some people make him out to be.

Hmm. . . could be--I might not be remembering it correctly. One could check the replay--they don't seem to have posted it yet.

Yeah, it's not a huge prize pool, but the production value of the whole thing is really quite good (minus the streaming issues at the start of day 1). Add to that a lot of the best players outside of Korea are competing and you have yourself possibly the best tournament outside of the GSL.

When will the cast be replayed at the mlg stream?

I think double elim worked out great. We got to see a lot more quality matches and people weren't sent home after two quick losses. If anything it lets the more quality players make their way to the finals. A few players you'd want to see again select, slush, painuser all made it far in the losers bracket. Makes it more epic imo.

I just got back. this was so epic. The Huk game is a memory I will have probably forever.
to clarify we were chanting "Show the Game" and then Huk said something to the effect of "What is the crowd chanting? Mothership?" and it was at that point the shenanigans ensued.
the best part though,(and I am not sure if this was on the stream) was the part when HuK came out of the Players areas to the chant of "HUK HUK HUK HUK!" from pretty much everyone in attendance.
One piece of live feedback, they WOEFULLY under estimated the pull of SC2, as they had alloted 10 benches total. for 90% of the day, we had all of the floor full in front AND behind the benches, and most of the aisle way blocked too.. had to be close to 200 spectators.

Also, seleCT basically did the exact same build that QXC had tried earlier in the day, on the same maps. Idra face rolled it both times.

The prize pool is something that the Halo people have been complaining about as well. I've said it before, but they've listed their assets at 42 million. Using just a fraction of that to create a huge prize pool would draw even better competitors, maybe even some Koreans.

I just got back as well. I was sitting right next to "The Epic Beard Guy" in the front with the /r/starcraft sign!!! (had to get there at 730 AM for those seats btw).
I have lost my voice. That Huk v.s Select match was EPIC. Bought an MLG sweatshirt and a custom T-Shirt w/ RedSixWhiskey on the back.
Got many autographs and an epic picture w/ the front row reddit group and Day9.
Peace

Well, all but Idra/Select seems up

It's funny how some people disregard how good Idra really is. Idra truly is on another level when compared to the players at DC. His play and game sense is so refined its unbelievable.

i hope someone has video of everyone chanting huk
