This is actually a pretty decent point, it's not like any of these guys wouldn't have shown up if first place was $26k. I guess if it continues for awhile there's nothing to complain about though.

From 27 protoss to zero. Disappointing to say the least. Even more disappointing is that for GSL season 2, we seem to be getting quite a few BW terran pro's (or ex-pro's) that are staying as T.

sc2 the game of gimmicky play and allins.
days like this one are the reason why im not too exited about gsl anymore. the normal sc2 game just isnt "exciting".
yeah the games that actually go on for a longer time can be amazing but thats such a small part. right now even tho i always laughed at wc3 and only played it like once a year i have to say that even wc3 produces way more entertaining games to watch.longer, more backnforth, people can actually show some of their skill to the viewers...

Sure close position on Meta and Steppes with the short rush distances are the best maps to balance early rushes.... This is not a problem to be fixed by a balance patch but by better maps.

The last three pages are nothing but people whining about balance. I guess they games just weren't interesting enough. I hope the semi's are much much better.

Watch NEXGENIUS vs ENSARE.
There are like 8 games, score was somewhat 7:1 for genuis, most of them went to lategame.

The difference between Ro8($3,400) and Ro4($8,600 for 3rd-4th, 2nd $25,700 and 1st $85,000) is huge. I would not be surprised if we see the cheesiest builds from here on out. Each race is going to be exploited to it's fullest capacity in the semi's and finals. Whatever has the highest percentage of winning is going to be used. You play to win the game!
Word.Stakes are getting higer and higer, they WILL do EVERYTHING they can to maximise their chance at winning, no mather how lame/cheese or however you call it. At the end of the day, all that mathers is $.
Anyhow, can't wait to see Cool in semies

Game 2 against Hyperdub.
Mind you, Game 1 against ITR could have been the same if he actually killed off ITR's forces when they arrived at his base, instead of forcefielding incorrectly and letting them get away.

Fantastic night, the stream was full and the games were boring. Another Terran infested semi-final, I'm rooting for cool but I wont be watching because I don't care enough to bother watching SC2 anymore.

It's pissing away the budget, how long can they keep this up for? Isn't it nearly 200k being given away in this event (or something, including all the other place $$$?)
It's so wasteful when all those players would've turned up for 1/3 of that money but they still could have milked 3x longer out of the cash. Hope WoW is subsidising it.

I'm just curious who he practiced it with. He'll surely have tried it a few times to see how it fares after the patch. Tester was probably quite busy training against Gas or Clide... Or maybe the 6 pool was something he got out of his system @ OGS against Inca.
Was just wondering... I imagine if he tried it against Tester the in-cheeseable and it worked, he would've been very confident trying it at the GSL

I think it's awesome news, it means I get to save 20$ a month on paying to watch.

They're running a tournament a month all 2011, with 2 or 3 more to go this year. I'd like to see the money spread out a bit better, but there's no reason to payout less if it's sustainable.
Some game 2 and 3s have over 11k views which is over $200k, so pretending the bandwidth costs to stream are free then they've covered the prize pool that way alone.

After today matches seems that the best Cool can do is second place. ATM imho its imposible for Z to beat ITR.

All the money that Blizzard is putting in for these tournaments aren't even a drop in the bucket in the grand scheme of things. I would liken it to more of tiny molecules from the evaporated water from the bucket. I don't see the prize money going down considerably any time soon especially since they already confirmed basically the same amount for monthly tournaments all of next year.

This is so win. Let's pray it will be like that.
Edit:
