I don't want to put words in either Husky or HD's mouths but as I understand it they will become available soon.

However, there are two major problems that need to be overcome first: the 3rd place matches have not been streamed and currently the replays make SC2 patch 13 crash.

Awesome tournament. I look forward to more in the future. well played whitera and idra.

I'll admit i spoiled it by checking match history before it was cast...

But that still leaves TLO and Nony, another epic matchup. I'm holding my breath. :D

The difference between Idra vs White-Ra and Sen vs White-Ra is simple. Sen actually uses his brain.

Idra = speedy mechanical monkey
Sen = high apm genius

Also, this tournament really makes you think about how nearly impossible it is to live off being a pro-gamer. White-Ra just spent a month winning $2500. If he could do this every month (meaning there would have to be a tournament, AND he would have to win every time), he would still be making a "decent" wage. Granted, that's US standards, which is why we're the last country to have any sort of true e-Sports.

Good news is that you won't be the last, though. AFAIK there are countries with higher average salary.
But your point still stands. Earing a decent living as a progamer is almost impossible. There is no reason for sponsors to pay more for the tournaments, though. If they pay 5k then almost every top player would be willing to participate.

im pretty sure the answer is no, because they want youtube hits.

Lol, a lot of people were moaning about the quality of HD and Husky commentary level, with rare constructive input. So, maybe on this subject.

First off, let's not mix up the level, and style. Of course they (as anyone) have to improve the former, but as to the latter... Let's just say, that I am actually unable to finish watching Day[9] commentaries. I do admire his knowledge, it's just that he annoys me. And it seems that the reverse is true for many regarding HD and Husky, which means we've found the perfect solution - instead of equilibrium, we can all watch commentaries made in style we like best.

As to errors you guys are/were doing:
- too much "behind the scenes" exposure, something I see you're both working on constantly though.
- Husky, the belching has got to go. Small sips man, small sips. And maybe non sparkling. I didn't catch any of this since the RO of 8 though.
- as to meritorious errors... well they are guessing a lot of time, and they are guessing what a pro will do. I'm more surprised they get so much of it right, actually, which would fit an analyst rather than a commentator.
- repeats. I'm not talking about catch-phrases here, I actually enjoy the cheesiness of some. Many sentences seem to pop in far too often, though this might be because I'm watching the stream. If more people point this out, maybe you can watch some of your vods and catch those.
- the sponsor exposure. It seems that you've had one sentence planned, which isn't so bad, but after a while, you clearly just wanted to get it over with because of the hype after last match. Maybe it would be better to omiss it entirely, and make a segway to it after mentioning the prize pool. Something Husky sort of did with the "It is iRip that brought you WhiteRa v IdrA match" (can't remember which game was it though).
- HD's pre-game shows. Again - some hate it, some love it. But since they can simply click on the progress bar to forward to the game:
Brian: There you are.
Ex-Leper: Half a dinare for me bloody life story?
Brian: There's no pleasing some people.
Ex-Leper: That's just what Jesus said, sir.

I hope that you'll get Blizzards permission to use the footage for Google partnership, guys!

If sponsored tournaments never release replays then I never want to see another sponsored tournament.

That said, I'm sure HD and Husky will release the replays because they're not stupid. The replays are great learning tools for good and bad players alike. Even if they wait 2 weeks or whatever to maximize hits before doing it that would be fine.

I was sure White-Ra is gonna win. He is such a solid player, that always looks like he has a plan, and executes it perfectly, player that is very hard to catch off guard.

I was impressed with IdrA not early expanding in game 1. I think thats the first time I ever saw him not go for the early hatch.

How did every one know when they were going to be playing? the OP still has "to be announced" listed.

Thanks,

Idra's macro is beastly, though I think he lacks versatility.
Anyways, any news on 3rd place matches? I'm so tempted by all those spoilers

It takes them time to render each video. They also need to be split up into parts if they're too long for youtube. The live stream of the finals was all one long video, which wouldn't fit on youtube. In short, it's going to take a bit of time Rendering videos can take a fair bit of time when you're keeping the quality in it, the speed of it will also depend on how strong the computer rendering it is.

Big thanks to HD, Husky, and iRip for getting this going. SC2 marks when I first really started watching pro players and streams for SC in general, and this tournament was pretty enjoyable to watch.
