If all you want to do is blink all in and you like to play other matchups on it as well (bleh), then yeah there's no need to veto it. EDIT On November 13 2014 06:09 Xinzoe wrote: Akilon is also pretty hard to do certain builds. Nexus cannon doesnt cover the entire natural so im forced to make an early sentry everygame. I think ill just do proxies every pvt on this map... Can't you just make do with 3 stalkers? You can kite marines for ages on that map. Or maybe get warp gate faster and warp in a 4th one if the terran moves out. :~

Standard terran builds are hardly a problem on Akilon Wastes if you get a colossus out at 9:00 and a second one at 10:00. There's also that build a build Classic was doing a while ago that gets a colossus out like 8:00 (lol), but if you like to make 4 observers like me, you have to sacrifice map vision for that or halt colossi production at one point in order to do that.

Im talking about the marine marauder poke at 7-7:30 which almost always forces PO. I think this is something mma used to do. The only attack path is the center, so your first observer can spot it easily thouhg. If you see marauders, of course it's risky to kite and you need a sentry, but you should have the gas at this point anyway. At least if you do the same build as I do, which takes geysers 3 and 4 at 6:00-6:10. EDIT: Alternatively, you could go wg first, then stalker sentry and add 1 or even 2 gates at 5:15-5:30 and not warp in any more stalkers unless the terran moves out with marines or something.

I've been number 1 diamond at my peak for a long time. I find ladder rather boring though, so as soon as I get top diamond I lose motivation to keep on playing in order to get promoted since it can take quite a while. My analytical skill set makes me much better at custom games though. There are protoss players who are often in master league, but are actually worse than me or just as good. I can safely say I have a pretty good grasp of standard PvT. If you disagree with what I said though, please go ahead and enlighten me.

I ran into that dilemma yesterday too. In hindsight I think I should have Skytossed and tried to force a basetrade. You think that could be a solution?

Everybody knows swarm hosts are broken, especially on a map like Daybreak. Blizzard refuses to fix them because of LotV. If SH on Daybreak were that much of a concern to me, I'd probably just go gateway pressure into immortal sentry off of msc expand.

Also, what do you guys do about mass Queen openings in PvZ? Like 8 queens on 3 bases... there's basically no amount of early pressure or harass that can hurt them and they can drone to their heart's content...

That doesn't mean that Sangate into Immortal/Sentry isn't a viable way of winning games if you don't want to play against Swarm Hosts. On Ohana and Cloud Kingdom, if Zerg players are seemingly rushing Ling/Hydra to deal with Immortal/Sentry, consider a 222? ![]() Life vs. San Blizzcon.... Speedlings and queens into #whateverthefuckhewants.

Out of all of the units that keep getting tweaks, I'm glad it wasn't the swarm host. That unit was truly designed by a god. Just so perfect in every way. Is there a hugging group where fellow Toss players, all much wiser than David Kim, can get together and share tears and replays of swarm host games? I just want to say I feel you guys. I know what you're going through. It's not right. Since the tempest is horrible. Since queens completely reck void rays. Since the mothership has a lifespan of 50 seconds (45 of which are spent reaching your army). Since, well, you get the point, can some people try sacrificing their workers, once they get a big gas bank, and just make as many archons as possible and then going all-in/yolo, and then let me know how that works out? There's going to be so many Zergs in GM that have no business being there simply because of these maps/SH.
