I usually find myself in position with faster upgrades and bigger roach count. But defenders advantage is too big in ZvZ for me to break them.

In this replay I wanted to produce queens constantly while holding the reapers back with zerglings but I couldn't get a comfortable number of queens out since he already had 5 reapers when my first 2 popped, so he was able to kill them pretty easily. He won that game with 0 units lost. Everything else being equal, you had enough excess resources to get the first queen 15 seconds earlier and the second queen 8 seconds earlier. After your first 4 pairs of lings you spent the next four larvae on drones instead of lings. Had you built the queens in time and not droned, you could have held.

Snute explains in details exactly what you are looking for ![]() Basically what he would do in that scenario is to take his own fast 3rd (just not as fast as his opponent's) and then adding 2nd & 3rd gas while teching to speed roach +1 (lair first!). Upgrades will kick in so fast that you are able to put pressure back on your opponent and make them count.

Couple things you can do. hydra/swarmhost/ultra/viper (with some infestors if you choose) hydra/ultra/viper/infestor Swarmhost + mass static defense + viper + queens and can do corruptors (abducting the voids into spores and shooting them with corruptors).

Thanks, I haven't tried anything with the Viper yet so will definitely be adding them. Would the binding cloud be effect here as well?

An exact BO would also be nice. you open standard way you do, with hatch pool gas in any order. then you get evo chamber @ 100 gas, start armor, then speed right after while you stay @ 1 gas. This build is vulnerable versus early bling busts, but once armor is done you can easily pressure into 3rd with few bling or none, while you get yours.

I know how to scout and what to make, but I've never made the engagement happen.

Sadly I don't have any replays (it's a while since I've played against it) but it basically consisted of me having 15+ banelings and engaging him when he's on creep, then clean up with lings. I usually go 1/1- 2/2 into ultra afterwards, although they usually just leave.

Do you wait until he wasted more warp-ins to engage with his zealots so your banelings are more efficient? How were your unupgraded lings able to cleanup when the immortals could hide inside warp prism and additional +1 zealot warp-ins are incoming?

You should be able to hold this with pure roach You clean his zealot up, especially if you have speed on the roaches (semi fast lair)

can someone help me try to reach 42 supply before my initial larva pops from the hatch in my main and natural? the reason is that i would like to use that larva to saturate two geysers in order to tech up. i can only get to 38, my goal is to get 32 drones, 16 in each min field and 2 sets of lings, plus the 4 queens. so thats 42 supply, the thing is that i can't get those 32 drones out before my larva pops and i just want to do this build as clean as i can.

The toss player tried an immortal/sentry all-in (moved out late and failed), then tried to take an (also late) third, which I denied, while killing off a big chunk of his army and taking my 4th. He retakes his third as I'm droning my 4th, then double expands and I'm unable to deny them, and he also moves out with a zealot/archon force that completely crushes my swarm hosts. I've watched the replay and I still can't figure out how he managed to build up such an army. If someone could check the replay for me and tell me what I did wrong that would be great. http://ggtracker.com/matches/3643457/replay The build he did wasn't the traditional sentry immortal all-in. He got the twilight council as well as the third behind it. That's why he moved out late. I would question your decision to target the third nexus, i think you could've easily killed the army then take the base later. Evaluating 14:30, you're not as ahead as you probably thought you were. Hes been keeping up with upgrades and tech very well and you lost some lings inefficiently versus better up zealots before your +2 carapace kicked in. Loses were even on both sides, while you didn't seem to have an economic lead. You had three bases, but less drones, third was not saturated. He actually has all his tech up and ready to go while you only got roach tech. His 3rd actually got rebuilt earlier, and he had probes there earlier. While mass roaches needed to be traded, you just sort of parked the army between the planetary nexus and his chargelot archon army, and didn't try to trade them away more efficiently. The SH comp was okay, he just caught you between spawns and killed everything. In short, he had very nice tech and comp advantage while you weren't really ahead economically and were unable to get favorable engagements.
