Still strong - recent IEM WC Mvp vs Yoda Game 2 I believe, Mvp opened banshee, waited for both to be in position behind main and nat, and did dual harrass with them while expanding with great results.

Depending on your build, but just for Bios sake - 2 base 3-4rax, reactored starport, 1-2 eng bays. 3 base, throw down 3 - 4 more barracks depending how distracted you get while harrassing stuff. 4th base on you should constantly be maxing out if the situation is any good so just add barracks and starports as much as you can (and OC, lots of OCs)

ive even defended it and won with 11gas 13rax marauder, its not a good build in TvT imo much better to do 11rax reaper or 12rax reaper. 8/8/8 is too allin

No, you just risk losing a lot to reaper openings, and the following aggression from you tends to get shut down by widow mines.

In TvP with a standard, bio-upgrade-heavy MMMVG force, are hellbats worth it? I'm thinking of the point where Toss has Collosus and/or HTs and a ton o' chargelots.

hellbats are the biggest counter to chargelot there is, so if he's going archon/chargelot hellbats own that composition

1-1-1 isnt bad against T by any means... Maybe the final product, but aggressive 1-1-1s are very much alive and well from my point of view. I even 1-1-1 protoss for the 4marine 2mine then go into standard bio mine medic play. TvZ, ya, maybe unless you do amazing damage.

I think I will stick with 1/1/1 for TvT and TvP for now until more solid/refined builds are available. Anyone know a good 1 or 2base allin for TvZ?

Its most viable vs T and it is very doable vs 1rax CC or reaper expand for sure

How you guys transition out of Bio / WM in TvZ? I feel like there is a point where you can not compete with the zerg army with pure bio / widow mine. When Zerg gets ultralisks /ling / bling / viper with infestors my bio ball melts so fast.

So I've just started with Terran (I'm trying to go random in HotS), and I was wondering if anyone would share the basic builds I should use? For TvT I know you want some sort of marine/medvac/tank/viking/mine composition, but I'm confused on how to get past early reapers at the beginning. For TvZ and TvP I'm completely lost.

Normally i play Bio/Tank/Medivac and go for the standard 2-2 Timing. Behind that i try to get up my 4th base and than if i stabalize i go for around 3more Starports with Techlabs. Initially i go for some ravens because i feel a lot safer with them since you can Seeker Missle Ultras and Broodlords. Further I try to get up around 3CCs and put one as Planetary to a important place on the map.(I am High Master)

Hello TLers,

Im a former diamond Terran just getting back into the game after about 6 months and obviously it has changed a lot. I'm playing HotS but have no idea which openers are viable.

If people could give me one solid all round macro(ish) opener for each race, be it a link to a forum post or a link to a pro game that they think would help I'd be very grateful. I used to use gosubuilds for reference, but it hasn't been very well updated yet.

A few last things, please could people reference builds that are used high end competitive and not something they cobbled together and think is amazing, since I'd like to learn something that will likely have some amount of stability despite the fast changing state of a new game (or add-on).

I like builds that are fast expanding, macro oriented, but dont have me confined to my base for 15 minuits before I can even venture out on the map. I've had a look around but had trouble finding anything. Mech or bio are both fine

I just finished watching a few VODs and writing down some Buildorders. I will just give you the BOs and if you have any further questions dont hesitate and ask me(could very well be so since you maybe wont understand my notes or smth^^) I havent wrote down supplydepots etc. since its quite obvious.

I have a few questions about the new m/m/m/m. mostly in TvZ.
when is a good time to push out with your army. and do you have the mines lead the way to bury first... kinda like tanks. im trying to get this to work but i feel like im fumbling around with it.( considering i only have a few games using this tact under my belt thats to be expected) i can post replays if you wish.

I mostly time it with some sort of Stim Timing (~10mins). As far as the engagements goes i stim ->attack move and try to burrow them near the Zerg army while we are fighting.
Another way i like to engage is to attack the third and kinda try to secure my army with burrowing Mines behind my army.

I'd like to make an addendum to pretty much all those builds, to the TvT and TvP builds, as while they're not bad per se I do not think they are optimal at all. In TvP, it is much better to open 12 rax 15 gas, reactor on rax, cc, factory, star port and then you do a 4 marine 2 widow mine drop to dry and deal economic damage to your opponent. From there you can throw down two more barracks, double engineering bay and all the other vital infrastructure for bio.

In TvT you generally want to open either reapers into widow mines for defence/drops, or you want to do the person above's opener. Both are fine, but in my opinion reaper expand into widow mines is far more versatile and safer.

I think yout TvP Build is also pretty solid but i use this build because lately i got 4gated(and general a lot allined) and with the around 5 defensive Widowmines a you basically cant lose.
TvT is like you said more of a personal choice. I picked my build because you can do a ton of damage early on and finish the game with a Tank push if you want.
