So: 1. Get a keyboard and use TheCore 2. Use Chameleon or Darkgrid :D

There will only be small changes from this version to 1.0 which should be coming out shortly after the release of HotS ![]()

For ZRM: Burrow is going to take M, while ability 4 (Consume, Neural and Creep) will take H. This is because with hatch-tech burrow as well as Swarm Hosts, Burrow seems to be a more "clutch" ability than the others, or in Neural's case, it is used more. Please note, Unburrow will remain on O. What do you think?

I'll probably keep the keys how they are; I just don't see a compelling enough reason to switch.

I don't think it would be worth it for you to make the switch, but it is definitely an improvement for the stock version. @kamidesu make sure you are tilting your keyboard properly. Also, you should probably start by playing monobattles to learn the layout more quickly, rather than playing the full game right away.

Also, if you don't enjoy monobattles and want to keep playing ladder games, I recommend doing some very early cheese strats. I started off learning TheCore by doing 2-gate rushes, 1-gate 1-forge cannons+zealots, proxy 2-rax bunker rush, etc. Also you should practice with the Hotkey Trainer custom map, which is really good for practicing the building commands. Still, expect it to take at least 50 games before you become comfortable.

HotS seems to be very sensitive about the hotkey file. If you set all the abilities through the front, then copy and paste the entries form this post at the bottom it will work until HotS decides to check the file, and put everything into alphabetical order. Except it deletes some keys if it has to do too much work. I suggest setting all the keys through the front, then pasting in these entries. If you paste them in alphabetically then so much the better. Otherwise have a shortcut to your hotkey file and be ready to past things back in. HotS As I play through the campaign I will list hotkeys that need to be manually pasted into your hotkey file to use TheCore. Yay SEA early access. Also an early headache. I knew it would be bad given how FUBAR the WoL keys were - like the Tech Reactor key not being able to be set through the front. Imagine that on a grander FUBAR scale, like whoops Kerrigan's keys can't be set through the front fuck you. Kerrigan Missions So, paste these into your file, unless you want to go as mad as I just did. MindBolt/KerriganGhostLab = Single attack, probably snipe Later you get a choice between these two spells, one can be set through the front. One can't. Probably want these the same key. WildMutation/K5Kerrigan= Later again you get new abilities and again they can't be set in the front. PrimalSlash is a blink attack, PsiStrike is a dash attack, and Heal is a group heal. PrimalSlash/K5Kerrigan= Because of the way you can only choose one at each tier your keys will should probably be the same as your previous choices at that tier. So for me on a RRM:
There are some passive abilities so if you chose those it would technically free up a hotkey, but only for that mission, and each person might want a different ability there, and I can't go into too much detail with out spoiling things. General Production Surprise, surprise. If you make the mistake of evolving your swarm you loose the production hotkey. Below in order.are Zergling, Roach, Hydra, Swarm Host, Mutalisk and Ultralisk. I've focused on ones you can't get to, the rest seem to be in front. Drones can make an automatic extractor like in WoL, also no key in front like in WoL. MorphToSwarmling/Larva= Enemy Within You get an egg laying queen here, who can lay zergling, roach and hydralisk eggs. Of course you may have evolved 1 or more of these by the time you reach this mission and only some can be reached through the front. It would be nice to have the units same as Hatchery production, but the Queen can attack and also has a burrow and another ability. Roach and Hydralisk keys can probably match the Hatchery, Zergling may have to move to your Drone key. SwarmQueenZergling/HugeSwarmQueen= You start off using these next abilitys a bit, then for the last 3/4 not at all, so probably want these out of the way of production keys above. They are different units but the same ability so probably want to keep the same. I'm trying to be clear without spoiling, hope I'm treading the line properly.
Make this a primary ability, you will use a lot GiantYetiLeap/GiantYeti= Space Missions You get a battlecuiser with some abilities. Yamoto and blink are what they say they are. LightningStorm is an EMP pulse. It can also launch and recall fighters. SJHyperionYamato/SJHyperion= + Show Spoiler [changelog] + edit1: added Swarm Queens edit2: added another Kerrigan spell edit3: more Kerrigan. edit3: Space Mission edit4: notes at top

@JDub, If I'm lucky I can find it quickly in the data editor. If I'm unlucky then I find it slowly.
