I'm currently dicking around trying to make Diamond on NA via only making reapers in every match up and I'm experiencing a lot of issues I disconnect every 10ish games although I have a good connection and no lag otherwise.

I'm 32-14, right now and 4 of those losses being DCs. Is anybody experiencing any similar issues when playing cross realm?

It's more economical (less travel distance for probe). Also, ovie won't spot it as easily I guess so you can chrono out warp gate for 4 gate follow up to expand without being spotted.

No problems playing on EU from NA.

Why dont Protoss players ever go triple forge and upgrade shields early? I feel like it would make their units so much tankier. Just curious as I have never really seen it experimented with

Hey, thanks a lot. So the gain in economy outweighs the benefit of being able to block early lings from entering the main? Interesting, will have to investigate further.

i use WOL and i need to ask something in the help me thread so where to post it the old one is locked and the new one is HOTS so where can i ask ?

ofc you can try it, but in general shield-upgrades aren't cost effective. It only helps with the shields + it's more expensive than attack and armor upg

True, but it should be noted that shields affect air units and buildings as well. Can be beneficial depending on what composition you are working towards.

How viable is a 3 raxx reaper making 5 reapers, expanding at the same time and transitioning into bio in basically any match up?

With the current metagame being so greedy I find that I can do a lot of damage if I control my reapers properly. I dont know how the transition would work though because I restricted myself to only making reapers every game on a new acc that I ve created. Ignoring my transition 5 reapers can easily pick of stalkers, queens and marines and if you also manage to get a couple of kills you can easily get even with him and if your reapers are still alive you can keep them for map control and minor harassment.

5 Reapers is a big investment in the early game and you sort of need to do damage to stay on equal footing with your opponent as they will have a much faster expo then you. The fact that you HAVE to do damage to make the build worth it is a bit of a risk. If you want to make a fair few reapers then the 2 Rax Reaper FE is a good build and sets you up nicely if you can get 4 or 5 SCV's and a few marines.

Just do it the byun way. 2 rax, 1 reactor. 3 reaper cycles, 2 gas. FE after you start reapers 4-5-6, drop FE, drop a fac, and a 3rd rax. Tech lab fac, reactor rax, continue on 3-1-1 on 2 base after opening 6 reaper harass. I do it a lot. At times I do no damage, but have the map presence to delay expos, and any kind of drop with marines, or hellions, those reapers react so quickly and pick off 1 by 1 dropping units very well.

So sad I should def know this, but is it 3 min after gas has STARTED to mine for speed, or 3 minutes once gas is started until speed.

I always go by 3 min from the time I see gas mined

It is roughly 3 minutes after the extractor starts assuming the Zerg puts drones in gas immediately and starts speed immediately.

If I have a full army at 200/200 supply, I often get like 5000 minerals in the bank.

What do I do with these minerals?

Well, it depends on your race, the match up and your composition but there are some broad things I can say which will apply in general.

Build Production Facilities

There's a good chance you're going to lose that army, often through an intentional trade to put yourself further ahead. In that instance, you want to be able to rebuild your army as fast as possible, so make sure you have the structures to do so. Often you might need to remax on a different composition in order to best adapt to your opponent so ensure you can react and aren't going to lose to something while you're building starports or whatever.

On the note of Terran, orbital commands are useful so you can MULE and sacrifice your SCV supply for a larger army.

Build static defense

Especially in the late game your bases will often be spread out and your opponent will be trying to hit occasions with small groups of units. Use static defense to protect bases or to otherwise slow pushes - again to allow for your remax.

Harass your opponent

You can afford to be using small groups of units to make life harder for your opponent, as time you're maxed and not attacking is time that your opponent will be using to catch up. Force them to build some static defense and move their army around and focus on your pressure. You can afford the units.

Make sure your upgrades are sorted

You'll probably have already done this, but it's worth mentioning.

Okay. Is there a limit on how many production buildings I should have? I bought the game 2 weeks ago, just hit high silver, and by 15 minutes I usually have like 13-16 barracks up.

You should aim for 3 Barracks with Addons per mining base

I've been trying to keep it simple, so I've been getting tons of barracks versus reactors. I'm focusing on having great macro before minor stuff.

I have at least like 6 barracks per base, lol.

As fast as possible is the only good answer I can come up with. It differs a lot from build to build. in PvZ most will have a forge for the wall, use that to upgrade as soon as you can, and you'll either have +1 ready for an attack, or you can add on another forge and twilight council when you're half finished with +1 armor.

in PvT I usually set up 2 forges after I've expanded and thrown down a robo facility, addon on 2 gasses at the natural at the same time. You'll have to delay it a bit if you're planning on a quick third though.

PvP is a bit tougher to find out when to start upgrading, but a good thing to look for is "do you feel safe vs an allin attack right now?", if the answer is yes, go ahead and start upgrading/teching/expanding.
