I put my "idle worker selection" hotkey from F1 to W and for some weeks CTRL+W worked for me. But then there was a small patch (1.3.1 or something) and since then CTRL+W doesn't select all idle workers, although the hotkey W still selects exactly one idle worker.
Has someone else this issue or was there a change in hotkey behavior? Respectively: Does Ctrl+F1 still work at all?
In that patch, the Ctrl+W functionality was added, which removes the user interface from replay and observer modes. It's not anywhere in the hotkey setup, so it's probably interfering with your ability to select all idle workers. I have an additional problem, which is that I specified Ctrl+W to a hotkey, and now I've lost the ability to remove the interface with that profile. I'm pretty sure it's gone even after I got rid of the Ctrl+W hotkey .

And in general, what is the best use of this? Setting one to your main, one to natural/other expansions? those are the main uses?
You have to go to the menu and go to hotkeys than find global hotkeys and there should be set screen position which are bound to f5,f6 etc naturally, you can change them to f2 f3 f4 whichever you like. And yes setting one to your main natural are all good and also setting one to your rally point as terran and zerg is good, while setting one screen hotkey to your nearest pylon to warp in units as protoss is also optimal.

Out of curiosity, do sensor towers sense hallucinations in the fog of war? (I'd expect so, but I've searched around and didn't see any definitive answer.)

why do zergs attack eggs with their first few zerglings in ZvZ? Do you automatically get a surround on the zerglings/drone when it hatches?

1. Generally when is the first time a dt can come into your base?
2. What are any signs of a dt rush (beside twilight council and shrine).(Such as gas timing or anything?)
3. When is the twilight council put down?
Thanks

is a 15 pool timing attack on 1 base all in considered a cheese? because i hit a protoss player before they go warp gate tech and they started bming me lol

almost positive the earliest someone can get a dt is 7 minutes game time
twilight council takes 100 seconds to build so around the 5 minute 30 second game time mark

Also, if someone is bm'ing you after a game you won, don't sweat it. They're just angry cuz they lost anyways,

Yes. (Thanks to Engima for helping me test that one out.)

Essentially. If zerglings are attacking an egg and it hatches, they lose agro and then normal "who do I attack next" rules go into effect. If a ling pops out of the egg, then most likely your lings are closest to that fresh ling and so they get an auto-surround on it. If it is a drone, then if there are no other attacking units in range, your lings wail on the drone; otherwise they will go for attacking units instead.
This is a trade-off, of course, because the lings could be getting damage on the hatch instead. And with good reaction time, you can pull your lings off the hatch in time so that the popping lings don't get a surround on your units instead.

I notice in PvP games EGAxslav likes to get 5 sentries, immortals, and air to try and hold a 1 base colossus all-in sometimes he doesn't even get hallucination and I don't understand what 5 sentries can do, (1 for guardian shield is good but what do the other 4 do?)

When you see an early third from zerg. ( Around the 7-8 minute mark). as a protoss, what should i do?
Cuase usually the zerg has a huge roach army that i would not be able to break

Sentries with obs allows for aggression pre-blink/colossus. Normally after the 4 gating stage of PvP is over, there's a point where you can't really attack each other's ramp due to sentries, and both players sit while teching to whatever. However, if you get sentries/obs, you can poke at your opponent before they get their tech, and if they're not careful you can easily trap units on higher ground with some FFs and/or kill a few outlying buildings.

How long is the wait time in team games before you can begin resource shifting ?

5 minutes. You get a nice, fat timer in the resource trading window telling you when you can trade.

How many banes does it take to kill a supply depot?
|
On May 01 2011 00:54 JTheLakeT wrote: How many banes does it take to kill a supply depot?
Depots have 400 health. Banelings do 80 damage to structures. So it takes 5 banelings to destroy one depot.
(Note that baneling damage buildings ignores the armor of the buildings, so the +1 armor on depot is irrelevant.)

Can anyone give me a bunch of links for good replay sites? Possibly a site with replays that aren't too old. I just switched to Protoss and I am completely clueless about how to beat Terran, so I want to prepare a PvT replay marathon
Not sure if this is appropriate for the thread, but sure beats making a thread for it.
