'Banelings damage buildings ignores the armor of the buildings, so the +1 armor on depot is irrelevant.' Also, is this true?

Multiplayer games are (with little exception) run on faster which makes game time 1.38 times faster than real time. Contrast this with single-player where normal speed is the default where game time is equivalent to real time. It's kind of silly for me to verify my own claim, but yes, it is (and it was surprising to me as well when I tested it out in game). Banelings deal a flat 80 to all structures that is unmitigated by armor, even armor granted by the protoss shield upgrade.

Now I understand that optimally one should know one build per matchup. However I'm in bronze league, and I'm just using a Protoss 2 gate observer FE build. However I use it for all my matchups, and not just PvT. Should I continue to just fine tune my build against all matchups, or should I really start using two other builds as well? Thanks in advance!

Does anyone know? It depends. The golden rule is to sacrifice an overlord when you need the scouting information to make a decision about your play. Thus when you decide to sacrifice your overlord depends not on a particular game time but instead the state of the game, what information you know, and what information you hope to gain from the sacrifice. For example, you might scout several signs of a 4 warp gate (no sentries, chrono on warpgate, missing scout probe) so you could send in that overlord sometime before the usual 4 warp gate timing (5-6 minutes) to sniff a 4th gate. More commonly, on your lair transition, you probably need to decide what tech you'll be picking up (hydras to stop mass air, roach speed or burrow) when your lair pops. So sending an overlord as your lair is morphing will help you figure out what path to go down. On May 01 2011 13:17 lettuceman44 wrote: Hey guys, I have a question on practicing builds. There's different opinions on the matter unfortunately. You can read this thread about practicing one build for all match-ups: http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=212230 (My advice would be to fine tune your build against all match-ups. At bronze, the limiting factor isn't your build but instead your mechanics, and your mechanics will develop quicker if you focus on a single build to refine instead of three.)

Yes for Banelings deal direct spell damage to buildings through an ability instead of weapon damage. Notice Banelings can't attack buildings with their weapon swings. They target buildings with the spell next to the Explode button

Chrono stalkers and kite the units in the open. You should always have the watchtower so you know the exact forces and this is easy because the zealot is the strongest unit early game, so you can take the watchtowers and clear out SCV's or the marine trying to take it as well.

As long as a bunker is in front of other units and contains units that can attack, it will be prioritized over units behind it against an a-moved army. (The last point actually destroys my notion of http://wiki.teamliquid.net/starcraft2/Attack_Target_Priority since it claims that the bunker would not be attacked over units behind it. But I just tried it out and the second point seems to be true not just for bunkers but cannons --- and presumably spine crawlers --- as well.)

Why do (atleast I) you mostly see hallucination vs zerg but not terran or protoss?

Why do (atleast I) you mostly see hallucination vs zerg but not terran or protoss? You normally see hallucination researched after warp gate in a 3gate sentry expand build. As you have got around 6-8 sentries it makes sense to use this as a scouting tool as your robotics facility will be late due to you expanding early and no way of poking the front until later as you cannot leave your base of fear of a zergling run-by into the main or a surround in the middle of the map. In PvP the 4-gate is normally used defensively or offensively so poking the front is effective and tell you the enemies unit composition and PvT 3 gate expand or 2 gate robo is normally used which means poking the front and fast observers are used. TL;DR scouting without getting robotics facility

Is it better at the very beginning of a game to build the worker first, or to send your workers to start mining first? I've seen many opinions in the threads that I've seen and I kind of want a definitive answer...

I almost always see professional players dropping their units in a line, but I can only drop them all in the same place. Click drop, then click on the drop ship while it is moving.
