Hi all,
Up until now I thought that a solid way to approach thor all ins was a healthy mix of blings and slings, with a queen and spinecrawler or two depending on how committed they are.
This approach worked for the first two of his pushes, but failed on the third, and I'm truly at a loss of what I should have done.
I was never able to drone up, due to the continuous pressure of his pushes, and towards the end he actually pulled ahead in worker count.
The thors seem to be highly effective at taking out spine crawlers, so I cant see them being a good choice here either.
His marine and worker micro kept his units alive while his thors picked off my banelings (the reason why his third push worked and the first two failed), whereas my lings were lost to the thors.
I began making a roach warren towards the end, but I cant see them being more effective than more lings, but I felt that I never had the chance to bolster my economy to the postion where I could mass lings.

After the first attack of his, you built a CRAP ton of zerglings. Like, an absurd amount and then you just let them sit there. Either attack and put pressure on his front/back door, or just simply drone up. Also, make sure you spread creep from your main to your expo a lot sooner. Everything else looks good; just make sure to drone up.
Also, the spine crawler placement could have been better. More forward would have been nice.

The second attack really cost you, just move all of your guys back to your expansion so you can defend on creep. Also, get baneling speed out as soon as lair finishes. For most of the attacks you could have gotten fewer banelings as well, he never really brought that many SCVs or marines. If he retreats the SCVs and marines then just surround the thors with lings to kill them and don't worry about the marines. Instead of attacking with your drones at the end, take them back up to your main, they could have allowed you to actually mine enough to hold that off if he tried to kill your expansion hatch before coming up the ramp. Make sure your rally isn't the middle of the battle either, you want to get a decent amount of forces built up so you can attack with all of them at once, not just as they hatch.

You made way to many banelings and a-moved your army. When 10 banelings blow up on a thor, its good for terran. You would have been better using those banelings to bust his base and kill his workers seeing as his depot was open the whole game i think. If you made drones at the right time and lings before the attacks, maybe like 3 blings, you would have been fine.

You coulda made a roach warren earlier. Those could have helped in the defense. Everything stated above is true.

think you should have made a Roach Warren after you saw that he was continuing with Thors in between his first and second attack
think you also should have either attacked his base with your ling/bling force when he was moving out on his second attack or waited for him to commit to his second attack and then do a pincer attack

Upgraded Lings or Roaches are best against Thors. You never want your Banelings to explode on them EVER. 2/2 Lings eat 0/0 Thors alive and also as soon as you scout the armory you should put a warren down. Roaches are highly effective and use Speedlings to clean up.
