Best Thor rush build order?

Hi there.

First post here on the forums but I've been lurking around for quite some time. I'm pretty new to Starcraft... never played the original. I'm mainly a fps player but I'm hooked on sc2 and trying to make the transition.

I've been watching the gsl and I've seen quite a few good Thor rushes. As a Terran I am wondering what the current best build order is for a Thor rush?

Also, whenever I try a Thor rush I bring scvs along with the army and I have them set to auto repair but they never seem to repair the thors. Even if I try to manually repair they just seem to sit there and watch the Thor die. Why won't they repair?

Like I said, I'm pretty new to sc2 so I'm sorry if these questions are noobish.

The moderators don't like questions like this. Search the forums my friend, there are lots of Thor build posts.

Well that's the thing. I did search and I found a few Thor builds but some of them are older and might not play the same since the last patch. My question was really just if there was a particular build order for a Thor rush that is universally accepted as the current best.

Why would the mods not like that?

If there's other units surrounding the Thor, the SCVs won't be able to repair. Also, you need money and gas to repair Thors.

I actually just facepalmed when I read that. I was pulling every scv off the line and using up every last mineral on rines for an all-in push... Well at least I know why the scvs aren't repairing now lol. Thanks for the tip (and not laughing lol)

Is there a certain amount of minerals/gas I should save up for repairs when I push?

Repairing a unit costs one-quarter of the resources that said unit requires to be built. So, repairing a single thor from 1 health to full health would require approximately 75 minerals and 50 gas.

Probably want to leave a bit extra in the bank if you're really sending everything you've got, since the scv's may try repairing each other a bit too...

Yeah, that's what has been causing my Thor rushes to fail. After watching some of jinros and rains gsl matches I thought I had the idea down pretty well. The fact that the build kept failing caused me to question it and post here for help. It's a relief, altho slightly embarrassing to find out that my scvs wouldn't repair because I spent everything before I started to attack. Like I said, I'm new lol
