10 overlord(10/18 supply now) 15 drone 15 Spawning Pool(you can build at 14, but difference between 14 and 15 is like 3-4 seconds) 14 Extractor(right after you put down SP, put down Extractor every second counts! so now your at 13 supply) 16 drones 16 overlord -the moment Extractor is down put 3 drones on it- 16 queen 16 roach warren 17 Overlord 18 drone --now stop and farm up minerals and keep pumping out roaches till you hit 8, you should have enough to build a spine crawler---
33-34/ build another overlord and upgrade to lair, make another extractor-go to mutas or whatever you feel like. There are a few things when sending out your roaches so at 34 your going to do this 1) build evolution chamber 2) maybe extractor-still testing if worth it) 3) 33-32/42, then you save up and build as much roaches as possible again usually when your 8 roaches hit the enemy base you will have 4-5 back up roaches coming. This guys can help clean up almost most of the time a) use your inject larva for 5-6 more drones b)make another expansion c) make more roaches
Does not work well vs Diamond players Decent VS Gold Soso vs Platinum
Very good vs Bronze/Silver

I think pretty much any strategy is good vs bronze/silver players. It doesnt matter what strategy you do, aslong as you do it decently.
Guessing this is a troll though? Hard to tell lol.
If bronze players could follow a strategy like this they wouldnt be in bronze anyways. If they just wanna get out of it why dont they just 6 pool?
|
it teaches bronze players to be more well timed since this is a massive timing builds also helps them to transfer to a more macro build after since you can just 15 hatchery instead of SP
:D just here to help out the lost ones

I am a Diamond player and I approve of this thread.

I'm bronze but I won't be using this. I am well aware I could get out of bronze very easily doing things like this or some other early pressure with other races, I mean people get into diamond by 4 gating but I just prefer not playing like that.I like to sit back macro up and defeat everything my opponent can throw at me and then punish him for failing to do enough damage. For someone new to RTS in general I think I have gotten pretty good at it. Recently my win rate has gone up to about 75%, not that I think that is impressive me being bronze and all. It's just how I prefer to play.

Bronze players should be learning macro builds with proper scouting and reacting. You are teaching a build where people are just relying on a timing push.
Bronze players need to learn mechanics before they move up. Moving them up before they are ready will cause them to hit a skill ceiling since they only know that one strat and they won't have the mechanics to pull anything else off.

I am a zerg silver, and what kills me is always bad mechanics. My last losses were because I didn't scout properly (void rays or drops) or did too many drones. Day[9] is a b****, nearly half of my losses are because I wasn't able to scout the enemy and had too many drones.
I found out that whatever I do I will win if I scout properly and don't forget to inject/spend minerals.
I believe that BOs are only useful in Plat.

Because I think BO and all these numbers are not what anyone under diamond needs, there should not be a focus on the numbers. Seeing this long list of instructions instantly turned me off, but I read it anyways. First off, the general concept of this build should be the main point and that's not present. It's a roach into expo build for Zerg and it is a commonly used overall opening build. Honestly, the only 4 numbers a silver/bronze league player should get from this is 15 pool 14 extractor 16-20 warren and 30-35 expo. Even though I disagree with some of these numbers and timings, I think bronze/silver players should learn this build and just know how it can fit on certain maps and certain opponent builds... Once again, I really just don't think these numbers and long sets of instructions are what silver/bronze players should pay attention to.

with that attitude you'll never even make it to plat, there is a reason day9 is one of the best analytical commentators in NA and perhaps the world. I'm not sure where that statement is coming from. Build orders are guide lines, you don't have to follow them perfectly but they give you a game plan which is important in any league, bronze or diamond.

What you should learn in each division:
Bronze: - Learn to make workers - Outmass your opponent and 1a to victory
Silver - Learn to acknowledge the existence of your opponent before 1a'ing to victory (Scout) - Learn what units counter each other - Learn to defense
Gold - Learn what macro is - Build shit that actually counters what your opponent builds - Get an expansion - Learn what a build order is - Still 1a to victory
Platinum - Learn what micro is - Attempt to successfully do a build order - Attempt to do harassment - Watch how non-idiots (pros) play in a replay, try and copy what they do - Learn what APM means (if you learn before this point you may have to cry yourself to sleep each night)
Diamond - Put together what you learn in all other divisions and win - Try new and unorthodox strats to counter more well known strats (baneling hydra vs mutaling?) - Get that third and fourth expansion - Brag about how awesome diamond is (while having a 300 rating)
Diamond+ - Become so baller that you make it to the pros - Switch to Terran and make Idra rage - Switch back to zerg/toss and gain self-respect again - Die happy
|
And here I was thinking this was going to be about 6 pool.
This BO is still pretty bad though since it is basically a delayed 1 base roach all-in. Why would you get the lair and evo, and you definitely can't switch to mass mutas off of one base.
But then again, building any units will let you win in bronze.
|
Bronze/Silver players shouldnt really focus on gimmicky build orders and focus on perfecting their standard play and developing a solid macro.
|
You don't lose to having too many drones, if you dont oversaturate both your bases, when it feels like you have to many drones its actually because you miss injections so you don't have enough larvae, Early game you can mass up an army in time when you see a push coming, after that you don't really need to build that many drones and you should have 3 hatches and 3 queens and more larvae than you could use anyway
|
I have a better one.

Apparently having over 9 drones is a bad idea. On small maps this build could be crippling if you open wrong. I'm not great but manage to barely hold, I didn't realize he was so all in until that Voidray came out.
I think this will absolutely demolish anyone in gold or below 90% of the time.

I'd say you can add:
"Learn how to recognize a cheese build with your scout, and how to counter it starting the moment you detect it" for Silver League. I've found that a significant number of the guys I face in Silver are people who pulled out of bronze using cheese.

The only thing you need to do to become diamond is to deside to play better every game. Find your misstakes and dont repeat them. There is more different inside diamond then between low diamond and bronze.

So true!!! I'm Diamond in SEA and that's all I do. I can usually win before 3rd base up XD, but lose to really good macro opponents.

Bronze/Silver Zerg tired of Losing? Try a BO
FTFY
Really though, bronze/silver should be focused on learning mechanics instead of a specific build order. As long as you aren't trying to succesfully execute a 5gate zeal allin or something dumb, you should win games if you do a clean BO.

In killa_robot's list, there were atleast 6 things from Bronze-Plat that I didn't do until well into Diamond
Silver - Learn to acknowledge the existence of your opponent before 1a'ing to victory (Scout) 1500 diamond right now and I still don't acknowledge the existence of my opponent - Learn what units counter each other - Learn to defense
Gold - Build shit that actually counters what your opponent builds I didn't even know what half the units did when I reached diamond. Didn't know that creep tumors spread other creep tumors either
Platinum - Attempt to successfully do a build order Funny way to word this. Not like anyone will attempt to fail to do a build order. - Attempt to do harassment
