A couple of things that help against drops once you've moved out.

A: 2 observers. If you can get one observer near his forces or the front of his base, you should know if he send medi's out.
B: 6 warpgates. This will dampen the effect of the drop, especially if you have khadarin amulet templars.
C: A single photon at your mineral line. This will allow you to hold off the drop units long enough to get your probes out of the danger zone.

D: Phoenixes to kill the drops before they drop.

Honestly though, most of my PvT's end before they get to the point where they're comfortable dropping. Early HT into an agressive push has yet to lose for me. I need to start playing T's with better micro.

if you're opening stargate vs terran having pheonixs patrol where the drop will come from after you've scouted is generally the thing to do if you don't have the apm to constantly harass and pick up dropships otherwise, or else i go templar and usually just leave 1 + a cannon and im fine but opening stargate a terran should never try to drop you just too risky especially after you've shown them

If you know your army can stomp his, but not when you're trying to force your way up his choke, then you aren't "about to win" yet - you need to capitalize on your advantage by expanding and defending, possibly containing or harassing him. Also, if your army can stomp his, can't you keep a few units at home and still have enough that he can't push out directly? Or just spread shit out to SEE drops coming?

60-70 supply on 2 base isn't exactly an overwhelming "my army can just stomp his right now" either.

I don't usually leave my base until 70+ food and I keep my forces near the center of if while keeping an eye of anything coming from the front. Drops aren't really a problem until late game.

This is somewhat silly but my favorite answer is to do drops yourself. Keep a largely stalker army in your base, maybe with blink to protect your expo, and then run warp prisms around. They are dirt cheap and warping in units means that you can do the same thing to terran, but with less risk from losing transports.

if he sent enough loaded medivacs at you that 4 stalkers + warpins can't stop it, then he sent over half of his army (assuming 70ish food total). Just go kill him.
