I've started playing ladder matches with purpose -- I'll pick one thing about my macro to improve and focus on it more than usual. The problem is that it ends up being a cycle of things I need to remember:
If I start a round of games focusing on my injections, I'll even remember to inject in the midst of micro'ing. As my injections get crisper, though, something will fall by the wayside. Let's say I start supply-blocking myself because I'm not used to having so much larvae to manage.
So, the next day, I'll focus on not supply-blocking myself (when I can help it -- I hate viking harassment!). Inevitably, I'll start missing an injection or two.
It's like there isn't enough room in my brain to manage more than 3 things at once. I'm getting better, though. The moral of the story is that there's always room to improve your macro. If you watch the IdrA vs. MorroW games, even IdrA (who's ridiculously solid when it comes to injections) starts to slip a little bit with all the micro'ing he was doing in those games and let his queens' energy climb higher than it should have.
