- Fixed a bug that was causing Bronze difficulty level to sometimes be as hard as GM
- Readjusted all difficulty levels in Creep or Die! mode as follows:

Bronze: Random -> Very Easy
Silver: Very Easy -> Easy
Gold: Easy ->Medium
Platinum: Medium -> Hard
Diamond: Hard -> Harder
Master: Hard -> Very hard
GM: Very hard -> Elite

Now published to all servers.

- AI upgrades now properly reset when the game resets

The map has been completely overhauled and I've added some fancy new loading screen and title page art:

In addition, and as you can see from the previous screenshot, I'm pleased to announce that I've teamed up with The JaKaTaK to add in { TheStaircase } Step 0 game mode as well as my original Creep or Die! game mode.

Several new features have been added including:
- supply blocks can now be enforced
- queen energy is now monitored and can be enforced
- scoring system revised
- a few achievements have been added
- several bugs removed
- you can now manually reset during the game
- new game end screen allows the user to see some game statistics

In the spirit of the old Macro or Die! maps I've decided to create a series (or at least one) Creep or Die! map. The focus of this map is to help mechanically challenged Zerg players focus on spreading that creep! How does the map help them focus on that task you ask? Simple, spread creep or your drones will die!

The map uses melee settings and has the following features:

- Seven difficulty levels:
- Bronze: 7 minute grace period to macro; build a creep tumor every 120 seconds after; very easy AI; lose 4 drones each time the timer expires

- Silver: 6 minute 45 second grace period to macro; build a creep tumor every 105 seconds after; easy AI; lose 6 drones each time the timer expires

- Gold: 6 minute 30 second grace period to macro; build a creep tumor every 90 seconds after; medium AI; lose 8 drones each time the timer expires

- Platinum: 6 minute 15 second grace period to macro; build a creep tumor every 75 seconds after; hard AI; lose 10 drones each time the timer expires

- Diamond: 6 minute grace period to macro; build a creep tumor every 60 seconds after; harder AI; lose 12 drones each time the timer expires

- Master: 6 minute grace period to macro; build a creep tumor every 45 seconds after; very hard AI; lose 14 drones each time the timer expires

- Grandmaster: 5 minute 45 second grace period to macro; build a creep tumor every 30 seconds after; elite AI; lose 16 drones each time the timer expires

- Scoring system: Earn points by creating tumors and receive bonuses for chaining creep tumors without letting the timer expire

Creep or Die! [WCS Daybreak LE] is a modified version of WCS Daybreak LE. I have future changes planned including achievements, additional bonuses, and possibly multiplayer.

That's really cool! I'm on the EU side tho so I cant test it =( You could make like a timer which alerts when you when you inject, so you will get into the mindset that every time you inject you should creepspread aswell..? ^^

Good idea. I thought about making an inject focused map as well.

Perhaps I will add in something like that at a later date to this map.

For now, I'd prefer to keep it simple so that players can solely focus on one thing - creep spread.

I'll see what I can do to publish to EU.

Update 11/28
- Replaced Easy, Normal, and Hard with Bronze through Grandmaster difficulties
- Each difficulty now sets grace period, # drones destroyed, creep tumor timer, and AI
- Scoring system added
- Moved to Arcade

The following bugs have also been addressed:
- Creep tumors created before the grace period ends no longer cause drones to die
- AI drones won't also be destroyed if the creep tumor timer expires

Future updates will revise the scoring system and add additional bonuses.

You should talk about this with JaKaTaK, of theStairs. This is Step 0 for zerg players, along with larva inject

Hey, thanks! I'm working on integrating Step 0 of TheStaircase as a separate selection from the other game modes.

That, along with a few other additions, should be out before Christmas (hopefully).

I've got a special present for everyone just in time for Christmas!

I have completely overhauled Creep or Die! and have teamed up with The JaKaTaK to add the ability to practice zerg Step 0 of TheStaircase within Creep or Die!

In addition, I've listed all the major new features and changes within the OP. Get into the Arcade and search for "creep or die" to check it out!

Regrettably, I had to take the game down temporarily due to a pretty serious technical issue that popped up.

I'll have it back up before New Year's -- will be out of town for Christmas until then.

Fret not, it shall be up and running again soon!

Hi hi hi! Good tidings (ie, news) for all!

I just got back from holiday, patched and republished the map on Americas and will be moving it to EU shortly.

In addition, I cleaned up some of the code so hopefully everything should run smoothly now. Please let me know if you encounter any major issues and, as always, feedback is welcome.

@BerthaG -- I don't have any plans at the moment for a Protoss map but that's not to say it won't ever happen. I highly encourage you to try TheStaircase custom map for Protoss mechanics needs.

Hi, looks super cool this map/mod trainer, but I'm afraid it bugs pretty hard on my computer:
every boks with text or pics says "param/value/xxx" xxx being a series of numbers and letters (looks like a folder path?), in-game, as well as in the starting screen. Hope it's fixable!

Hey there essmarbu - thanks for the input.

My EU publisher informed me of the param/value error on the EU version but sadly I haven't had time lately to fix it (as if RL > SC2). Anyway, I'll try to get it fixed soon.

Either that or in the meantime you might try switching to AM server by using Global Play. Not my favorite option so I'll try to get it working in the next couple weeks.

I experienced the same param/value problem playing on EU version, tried switching to AM but the param/value problem still showed up, solved it by changing my text language from English (GB) to English (US), had to wait through a 3GB update though.

The problem still shows up trying to play on EU, but at least working for me now on AM.

I didn't managed to find Creep or Die!. I go to Arcade, then go to the search box on the upper right and key in Creep. Only found 2 games which isn't Creep or Die!. Is there something that I did wrongly?

EDIT: I found a video in youtube for The Staircase Step 0 and Step 1, I realised I can create a custom game just for Step 0. Cool.

Hi,

The map shows "PARAM/VALUE/XXXXXXXXX" where the buttons are supposed to be, then ingame you also cannot see what the screen prompts says cause its got that same "PARAM/VALUE/XXXXXXXXX".

Strange...

Edit: Sorry, see it was mentioned above.

Edit2: OMFG now it seem like i have to download the whole god damn US client to play. WTF?

Anybody knows how to stop this?
