Well, this surrey is biased because the people who voted is the people who access the forums only, and they are the ones who want some change. There are a lot of people who like the way it is and do not access the forums, specially those who like Blizzard style more than MLG style. This forum is mostly fans of MLG. I'm not sure if I should copy Blizzard style or MLG style.

As far as tournament play, I prefer MLG. But lets be honest. In ladder, you get close positions sometimes. Keep it that way. Plus other people are waiting to play. If cheese speeds up the game and it provides both practice and a faster game.

News:
The most popular maps were reset, so iCJug Xel'naga Caverns got to the top of 2nd page most popular.
|
It would be great to get these onto the first page. At the moment the xel naga obs map is on there, so you have to use this in off peak time, but its a lot worse than icjug.

Great maps! It's a lot of fun to just be able to relax and play with friends, queue up when ready etc.
I noticed that the average APM on the drop down menu shows the average APM for the whole game (when your idle and observing is included). I was wondering if there was a way to display the actual "game" average some how. I some times enjoy seeing the APM spikes seeing my friends panic etc
Thanks again for the maps! They are quite enjoyable.

About the APM average on the APM tab, I've tried a lot to stop the APM while the player is watching the game, but I couldn't. It might be impossible. Hopefully, the option to disable APM will be working on the next patch.
Meanwhile, you can see the APM average between games (that one is working perfectly).

Good news for iCJug and/or iCCup fans.
I've talked to prodiG, and iCJug iCCup Valhalla has just been published with an exclusive comic! Enjoy

We are playing this right now and arguing about how the system works to save the top player scores and personal scores.
Is it kept through the SC2 system, held on the map, held on personal profile, or a remote database or something? I'm sure there is an obvious answer, but right now all 10 of us playing are disagreeing on how all of it gets saved and updated.

It's pixie dust XD I bet no one thought that!

It's 99% likely that it's saved to your computer in the banks folder.

iCJug MLG iCCup Testbug has just been published! (new comic!)
|
Oh god... Thanks for testbug release... What a beastly map.
|
Thanks for a couple new maps!
I thought you could only upload 5 maps per user though? apparently not?
If it's no trouble, could you...
upload all the GSL maps? haha
(the ones being used: Xel'Naga Fortress, Dual Sight, Terminus SE*, Crevasse, Crossfire SE, Tal'Darim Altar)
*We talked about this one, and you said you couldn't find the file for the map (makes sense, the mapmakers probably want to keep them secret), so I'm assuming you probably won't have the others either
If not, then can you please update Shakuras Plateau to Shakuras Plateau 2.0, and also upload a version of Metal and Shattered where close-ground positions are disabled? In both MLG and GSL, they have disabled close-positions on both of those maps. I'm sure theres more leagues too that use the disabled-close-ground-position version too, but those are the major ones I know.
That would be super duper and thanks for making these

So just because Blizzard is irresponsible with their maps, it's OK for no one to be fixing the issue? that's a pretty ridiculous argument in my opinion. Oh wait I forgot, people ARE fixing the issue — just take a look at MLG (to which zergs STILL didn't do well in) or TSL. The second argument about speed is also bad. I play Starcraft for real games, not fast games. If you want fast games, go play on fast maps like blood bath or fastest map possible or that other BS. Hell, you can even modify the game speed, why not make it even faster? Randomly forcing some games to be shorter is pretty dumb, especially considering that by doing so you're not just making the game shorter, but you're actually making the non-zerg (more likely to) win.

And what's the situation with Shakuras Plateau? I didn't get to check it out... did you actually make it MLG style, or did you just fix it so that it's the way it was supposed to be played by Blizzard? Also, is it the old rocks position, or the new one? (I think I remember it being the new one) MLG uses the old rocks position, which I think makes a lot more sense considering that the corridor doesn't go from base to base anymore.
|
I will be updating Shakuras Plateau any time soon.
About the cross-position only, this is implemented on Shakuras. The other maps I'm still deciding, but I will implement if Blizzard does the same.
The map maker limit is 10 maps (and I reached that limit already with 7 iCJug maps + Nexus Word Wars + Platform Defense + Debates). Also, yeah I can't have MLG maps because they are locked.
2 new icjug admins: prodiG and iCCupDiamond

Hey man, dropping by to say that I love your maps. Hope you release Tal'darim Alter eventually (maybe replace Valhalla? It's out of the iCCup rotation this month) and make Metalopolis/ST unable to spawn close by ground. That's all, great work these maps are amazing!
Also if they upgraded it to 10 maps/user I believe I have 5 map uploads I could let you use if you want more! All credit would go to you of course And I'd be happy to update them when needed.
|
Thank you Meta. Yeah, I would for sure use your account if it wasn't by a big problem: If you publish for me, it will screw up the iCJug ladder, VIPs, Admins, and player scores (bank issues due to different publishers).
