On another note, I like that fact that you can't siege or storm the mineral lines easily and that they are far enough from the entrances so your economy isn't automatically over when you get contained.

The expansions seem to be really far apart (even though I have a hard time right now judging how big the map is actually in total - it might turn out that these distances are more Steppes Of War-like) which combined with the fact that there are only 4 total bases per side makes for a lot of 2 base builds. The new set of GSL maps have shown that the larger macro maps can lead to some really interesting games with high level play (GSTL), but may also cause stale macro fests where nothing happens except for one huge battle and a GG after 15 minutes (Code A). Smaller maps have their place, and with 8 bases you have about the amount that gets taken in longer games anyway. The number of games where a 5th or 6th is properly utilized is small anyway. In addition, this map is gorgeous. And I see no reason why we couldn't have a map like this in the GSL. You're right, we should wait for a couple of games on this map. I still doubt that it's going to turn out to be an awesome map though.

![]() The mixing of two tile sets is sort of cool and adds more dynamic; you'll probably like one side more. But that also means there'll be one you like less xD Just first impression it seems like it will be a 3 base turtle map leading into lategame fighting for a fourth while both players are very low on resources. Sounds epic ![]()

I remember the creator of that map saying they thought Tal'darim was too big, and this is definitely the opposite direction. The middle looks like it'll make for good battles, but it does look quite tough to take a 4th. its not even hard to take your 4th, and even if it was... what would be wrong with that? maps should not be made to give you inifinity free bases, and zerg players should quit pretending that would be good map design
