I didn't find any Blue Storm map on battle.net 2.0 so I made one and uploaded it.
Press create game then search Blue Storm to download it. U.S. server

Can the choke to the main canyon from the nat be any smaller? In the original it was freaking tiny and in SC2 its 600% easier to move groups of units through a small choke.

Purely from spectating, they play better, too. The ladder maps are just terrible.

saw python fighting and desti ingame i was like blown away on the artwork by community but also on the proportions of sizes of the nats, 3rds etc just amazing work

I think someone did make a bluestorm earlier, but this version looks way better. It's very clean and proportionally pretty accurate. One of my favorite maps from BW

Because SC1 maps were already balanced...
unless ur talking about aesthetics then maybe blizzard just sucks at decorating their maps lol.

Props on the good color scheme. Now that the editor is more modular, lots of amateur maps have horrendous color combinations.

It looks great!

Only thing I would tweak is maybe make the path in the middle a bit more narrow, and also fix this asymmetry:

edit: since it's hard to see the areas I circled, I think the ramp in the upper left is longer than the ramp in the lower right. Looks like the ledges aren't the same size as a result.

Nice port, too bad I'm not on the US server, I would give it a go.

I always have the same problem with this blue tileset though, I find that it always looks a bit bland. Don't know why though, maybe texturing or whatever. Maybe it's only in the overview.

Is the ground around the small choke still unbuildable? Because if I remember it correctly, it was in BW. Would hate terran to just be able to block this off with 1 depot...

After playing this, I found that attacking was extremely awkward. The front choke is too small to attack well, and when you go around the back, they can quickly move through the small choke. and kill your base, or flank. Obviously, this wasn't a possibility in BW, since the choke was so small. You should try using the small pathing blocker doodad to make the choke 1x1.

Well they were balanced according to the units in SC1--different unit interactions change the dynamics of the map.

So yeah, I'm assuming he means aesthetically.

Yeah this looks like a really hard map to play TvT because of viking wars....... Whoever sieges up on your front can just shell your expo instantly. To be honest, I would remove the small choke in front and just make it a wider choke. Zerg mutas and baneling bust look like they can work pretty well too. I do like reapers on this map though. You can proxy at 12 or 6 and attack them.
Hope is the first step on the road to dissapointment
