Concept Basic macro map. Main bases in the corners, ramp which leads down to the natural. Natural has 3 rich minerals which can only be mined from after destroying the destructible rocks. Outside the natural is a ramp that leads up to the 3rd base, where you also have to destroy rocks. The third base has a wide ramp out leading to another base. There are 8 ramps into the middle.
Line of sight blocker (los): los blockers on side of the cliff on 3rd base los blockers on the side of the main ramp cliffs Watch Tower: none Destructible debris/rocks: destructible rocks (2k hp) locking in the rich mineral fields on the natural (you must destroy them to get access to the rich minerals)

version 1.2 - pushed out the 3rd base wide ramp a little - pushed the small ramp and the way which leads to 3rd base away from the natural - added alot of forest between the natural and the 3rd base unallowing siege tanks to shoot down the natural (they still range the golden minerals) version 1.1 - widened the 3rd base large ramp - moved out the 3rd base a little giving it more space behind the minerals and also moved it closer to the ramp - added 2 mineral patches to 3rd base - removed watch towers in middle - added line of sight blockers at the side of cliff on 3rd bases - more decoration - removed some doodads from the middle for extra space

This looks like a map with a lot of potential, it'll obviously need balancing tweaks when people start playing with it against other people online, but it looks great so far.

Like the look of the map especially the doodads. Will be interesting to see how games turn out on this one with the decrease in mineral patches at some bases.

Genius idea with the rich minerals, I wouldn't be surprised if this became a trend at some point in the future. Overall the map design looks pretty balanced and fun, I would love to try this map out.

The map is very visually appealing and I like what you did with the gold minerals, but the 3rd seems just a little too easy to defend. Other than that though, I have no complaints. Great job

I'm not sure about the natural being a mineral+gold expansion. It seems to me that it will just encourage 2-base turtling, as it will allow for essentially free turrets and cannons. Since offensive units typically require gas it has no offensive analogue. I'd have substantially less of a problem with this if the gold add-on was located at the 3rd.
Great overall design, though. Far better than most we see here.

the 3 bases are pretty easy to defend, which seems to favor terran pretty hard. i would make another ramp to the third base, or perhaps just widen the entrances to each quartile of the map.
also theres some strong positional imbalance; because a terran whos clockwise from his opponent can shell the natural expansion

I really love this map, the blocked minerals are intriguing, as well as it has some narrow areas and some wide areas, overall seems very balanced, we will just have to wait until game play occurs.

anyone else see a swastika in mid?. Nice map though. Great idea with the 2nd. Can terran seige the gold from 12 3 6 and 9? Also no towers?

I like this, you've at least tried some interesting stuff, particularly the blocked gold minerals. It'd be intriguing to see those in other exp. positions, eg. the third.
What I would particularly like to see is the addition of minerals/gas being blocked by 0-value mins (Hell, I'd just like to see 0-value mins in general, though I understand that this is not currently possible in the editor?) That way, the decision would have to be made whether to use early probes for mining 0-value mins for earlier access to high-yield patches, or whether to wait until later when the loss of short-term mining time is less consequential.
Oh, also I misread the name as Airguitaris, which I liked

For the record, the swastika itself doesn't actually mean anything negative, in fact, it once had a positive connotation, but the Nazi's perverted it.

What you did with the natural is really cool. Maybe you should make the ramps leading to the center a little bigger so bigger armies can be more mobile in the center.

My zerg eyes are watering with happiness. This map seems to strike a very difficult cord between path choices, expansion "cleaving" vs proximity to main, oppenness, flanking, cliffing, and rush distance vs macro map. However, I believe this map just might favor zerg a LITTLE bit. To solve this problem, I reccomend putting a rather small hole (or non-ramp raise i guess) in the middle of the map.
Also, I dig the temple ruins. Pwnmode. I wasn't sure I liked the textures at first then I looked again its good.

Map looks great, probably one of the best (if not the best I've seen on TL so far).
If I Had to change 1 thing, It would just be the details- The square patches of concrete don't seem to fit the map. I dunno, maybe that's just me.

This is probably the best looking user made map I've seen yet. I love the way your using the high yields at the natural - I think this will really help create some awesome macro games. I look forward to seeing this map in action when phase 2 starts up!

The only thing that I don't like is the high-yield minerals mixed with normal ones in the natural. IMO I just don't like that whole concept in general, but it's your map, not mine. If you do decide to keep the minerals like that, at least do it to the 3rd expos not the naturals.
But I really like this map! Perfectly balanced - doesn't favor any of the three races. :D

You just showing us ur skills or something? who cares about them loolz If u wish to publish your map why u still waiting? Everyone knows that these maps are made by you so I simply dont understand ...

Everyone knows that these maps are made by you so I simply dont understand ... its because beta is down so u couldnt play them anyway also so early versions of them i expected to make some more vers before its fairly balanced. its good to upload it to tl to get the general opinion so i can make updates. u upload the maps here cause there r some ppl roaming around looking for custom maps to add to their tournaments. theres tons of reasons to publish it here other than letting others play on it, just wait until beta is back and ill give out download next time dont assume the worst yo makes u look like a troll~ afaik u cant even play vs ai on the blizz maps u alrdy have ;;;

Really excellent map. The high yield mins at the natural is interesting and unique.
The positioning for the 3rd is just absolute perfect at this point. I think a play could actually go 2 different directions for their 3rd. Either break the rocks for the closer one, or head counterclockwise from the nat, and up the wide ramp which would allow some early protection by leaving the rocks up, and defending that wide open area in the center.
The layout of the map is excellent in that it has the mostly open middle, but allows for some flanking opportunities along the side for those who break the rocks.
I really can't wait to play this.

I can say with confidence that of all custom made maps, I like Argutaris the most. I even like the name! The high yield minerals behind the destructible rocks makes this map unlike any Blizzard map yet. Having the high yield minerals there encourages a more macro style of play since early expanding on this map is more rewarding than on a map with only normal mineral patches. Good work!

To those who say there are none: From the natural to the far corner of that rectangle thing and then to the center, repeat for each natural.
Many Starcraft maps have swastikas in them. Sometimes they are mirrored (but I think those are swastikas too, just not the nazi ones). Nobody knows why. Or at least nobody has told me yet. It certainly is not intentional (in most cases). But that's how it is. Looks like this is not going to change with SC2.

It's really simple to explain. Bases in the corner + direct-ish path to middle + path from nat or 3rd symmetry = swastika.

Who cares if it looks like there is a swastika? I mean I have seen several maps on TL where people have mentioned something looking like a swastika. In fact, you could probably search through every single SC:BW and SCII map ever and probably find a lot of maps with images resembling swastikas. I do not think this is an appropriate topic for a map thread.
Great job on the map, MorroW, this thing is really amazing! I would like to see this iin some tournaments as well.

Is there anywhere I can download these maps now that the game is out? Or are they gonna be published ingame perhaps? If so when and do I only need to search for them there? (I'm still not sure how that custom game list works lol)

You can't search for games yet, but you can download them from sites like z33k and then republish and invite your friends.

I was looking at this map and I was thinking that it would make T OP vs Z but then I noticed the rocks at the thirds. If you have Terran Mech camping the middle then you can break the rocks and get a perfect surround. This actually looks like a very good map.
