I have to agree, the games feels really streamlined on both r-point and luna. But other maps are even worse like Cultivation Period, Rush Hour and Forte. Would be nice with some new interesting but back to basic maps.

Back to topic, did the massing of gateways have any affect on the outcome of the game?

i think terran played more solid, just defending his expo + vult raiding most of the time

it hurt the toss player more than the toss player hurt the terran player by killing some tank / vult def at 11
Just enjoy!

And you post this in a replay on R-point?

May I ask you how?
All the PvT I see/play on it ends up with Terran turling 3-4 expoes then goes out when he's 200/2002 3-3. Then the protoss gets rolled over, tries some fancy arbiter tricks to delay the push. Then the Terran takes more expoes and turtle them. I swear to god, this is the 5th replay that looks exactly the same in a short period of time. Nice diversity.

That toss sooooo had the game at one point, but he just insisted on frontal suicide attacks while his 2 last bases were soon going to run out, instead of some sexy storm dropping/recalling. The end was frustrating to watch But apart from that, he was pretty awesome. Great display by the terran also !

Yah his arbs might have done something if he didn't keep them bunched up and getting 3-for-1'ed on those EMPs. Terran made them irrelevant in this game. I'm convinced carriers would have done more for him in this game, but that doesn't mean carr>arb always.

That is true, whether it's TvZ or TvP. The extra gas the terran gets just dominates everyone :/

You can see why terrans have to turtle on this map though. Any map where you can't slow push the middle is very hard for a terran to play aggressively on.

like some one said, toss had a chance to win. Compare to his opponenent, the toss is way too anxious to attack. he should have spend more time get organized to put a more quality fight with t.

all the new maps are the same.

How is r-point more boring than luna?

they are pretty much the same map, only rpoint has more gas.

both of them are pretty boring to me,but luna is slightly more boring

I like r-point, makes usually late-game techs into more of a heavy midgame front assault, due to the accesable gas expansions on every corner :o

23 gateways does not a godly macro make. 23 that actually do something most of the time, that's a different story.

And was anyone else complaining about the severe lack of High Templar + Storms? A few more of those could have seriously evened up the damage dealing capacity.

By the way... who won?

Terran was pretty awesome, though he was helped along with the Protoss' convenient stacking of spellcasters (like when he unloaded his 4 templar off his shuttles, and the T immediately EMP's all 4 of them... ouch)

He got up to 30 gateways

Also, who is cherry? His ID is something else in the rep so im guessing this player is "well known" yet ive never heard of him, former pro? Or just some well-to-do korean amatuer?

Well, he's been in a courage final actually.. But, he's no one famous or special in that sense. Just A-~B+ PGTour player and this was a fairly good game.

Me and midian know him, which is why he's not listed as SolMiSarang but under his west ID

Long time ago, before it was as big I guess o_o;
I think he was in the finals at least, maybe semi -_- I'll re-ask to make sure. Anyway, if you get lucky with maps/matchups/opponents o O

I agree. The Protoss had about 3X the amount of minerals the terran had and about 2 more exp.. around 25 minutes into the game. They both played pretty good, but I had my bets on the protoss player. He saw most of the map and had control over it as well. He could take out the mines and even had an observ in the middle of cherry's factories. I think it was won in part by the protoss running out of minerals and gas. Other than that they seem to be pretty good players.

I am a total newb at this, but I can see why some people argue that things would turn out the same way in an equal skilled terran match-up.
