Maybe that's why it's incredible.

And, yes. The main thing is, HwaSin is playing god damn good, he seems to be "mastering" the game. Maybe not at his finest, but still. Yeah, still, you know that Nal_rA is playing his game. Well, it may not be obvious in this one, but it certainly is on the second replay.
Oh and, thank you uhjoo for sharing.

At the end of this replay I was literally laughing with joy...

What a fabulous game! It's also interesting to note that Nal_ra's APM was below 200 in both games and hwasin's is inflated with 46% hotkey ... He's trying to do things too quickly, as you can see his macro is good but his supply placement is sloppy (which matters) and he had many idle scvs. He's concentrating on mechanical speed more than strategy. An unfortunate circumstance for Hwasin was either his neglect or just miscalculation of income and production ability - after annihilating Nal_ra's first army, and pushing into the natural, Hwasin had about 2k of both mins and gas, although he did not stop production. I believe someone like Oov would have planned ahead by building more factories or getting more expos and would be maxing out at 200/200 at that time instead of watching his funds increase.

WIth that said, it was a masterpiece of gaming

why the hell did he fight in the ramp? He had a better economy at that point (mining with 12+ SCVs vs 4 probes). He could have secured his position a little longer, he lost so many golliaths for nothing

He had like 2 groups of +1 goliaths vs about 8 goons and 2 carriers. He rightfully thought he could take the ramp. I thought so too.. people make mistakes

What do you mean? 3 zealots, one by one probably won't bring an archon to half HP. 3 all together will probably kill it. Big armies can accomplish more

Yeah but he thought he had the game... Psychology is part of the game
About any game you can say "oh Chungsung should have moved his cruisers. Why would he leave them idle in a useless place why didn't he see the ghosts? Also when boxer made a lot of goliaths why didn't chungsang just make some more tanks ?? that game sucked"

Basically most come back games between high level gamers are based in a large part on luck and mistakes/negligence of the player with the advantage.

You are right of course, when attacking Nal_ra's natural with goliaths he should have split them. But that is not what most players are used to thinking, plus habbits are very strong in starcraft. I don't think he anticipated to see quite so many templars... unquestionably a 10 vulture run in before goliaths could have done miracles if hwasin had anticipated and prepared against the templars.

He could have won in spite of that if he managed his resources better...

the terran tried to snipe the temps with vults but i think some were hidden in shuttles so he didn't account for those. Also it seemed like the t was being super aggresive towards the end but nalra just took it in stride and used it to his own advantage.

i think the reason why HwaSin[s.sir] lost is because he tried to play overly aggresive without preconception.

Yeah, I've been seeing that surprisingly often in replays lately. This game, Pride's RWA of LindsayLohan vs Sabbath, and a couple others I can't remember... never saw it before a little bit ago, so I thought it might be a display error just for me. Guess it's just coincidence though. A shame, too, having an extra upgrade might've really helped Hwasin swing things around.

hehe, the ending they where trying to cut down each others mining and ra's carrier is amazing, c how his DT slice the cc half to death and gol showed up killed DTs and 4 carrier pop out of nowhere killed the cc :D

hm I disagree, every gamer with more than 300 apm has 40% hotkey regularly, and supply placement doesn't matte in my opinion

the difference in apm and hotkey is more because nal ra plays protoss and hwasin plays terran

He's below 300 and above 40% so your argument is flawed Supply placement is just one example of sloppy play... others include not makign enough factories, researching air instead of ground armory upgrade and of course the encounters with the templars...From what I've seen most Terran pros are above 300 by a fair margin and close to 40% in hotkey percentage.

By the way I wasn't really comparing their APMs. It was just interesting to see that Nal_ra plays INCREDIBLE pro level protoss with <200 apm, while, say, NoNy (not to diss or anything ) played at over 200 at a significantly lower level a year or so ago. I'm not 100% certain about the NoNy comment but I believe he said his apm was 200+ when nGi first opened...
