-Has played over 1000 televised games and even way past his prime he has a better winrate than most progamers ever achieve
-Only player to even win two titles in the same season
And thats just breaking the ice on his many short term and long term achievements. What I think is truly the most amazing accomplishment of Nada's is he won his last OSL 5 years after his first major win against Boxer.
Would people stop saying that please? Afaik it was another format back then so there was actually quite a bit of time between the 2 Star Leagues, unlike today, when the MSL and OSL finals are only a few days apart.

If starleagues were so far apart today, flash would won double gold twice already..

I don't think there's anyone who actually watched starcraft for a longer period of time that thinks Flash is the GOAT. It's just these new kids who doesn't know what Nada accomplished. It's like people are saying Messi is the GOAT in football not knowing who Maradonna or Pele is.

They were three weeks or so apart rather than one week. So? They were still the same season, and the day before Nada won the KPGA tour, he beat yellow 3-1 in the OSL.

Garimto, Boxer, Giyom, Yellow and Chojja never did it, so why try to diminish an accomplishment that belongs solely to him? If Flash won two golds in the same season it would be more impressive than what Nada it, but it hasn't happened yet.

As I predicted at the start of the month Flash hasn't been solved after all
+ Show Spoiler +11 game wining streak and complete domination of 2 very good TvT players Hiya and Leta proves this. Also the mech friendly maps in both OSL and MSL give Flash quite a good chance to win at least one league.
|
Man, Leta, fOrGG and Hiya just rolled over Flash now that they knew how to defeat him.

Don't get me wrong. I love NaDa as much as the next guy and I don't want to take anything away from him. What bothers me are such stupid comparisons in general because it just wasn't the same back then. Not only the time between the SLs were different, but many other things too. That's why I don't like it when people try to compare players of different eras.

flash would beat nada in prime with one hand =)

Absolutely useless statement, and this is coming from a man with a KT tag and a tag stating his dislike of Nada.

Not so useless as You might think. Going crazy over Nada instead of going crazy over Flash is like going crazy over Capablanca instead of going crazy over Fischer. More or less stupid choice not counting few really great games (from both: Nada and Capablanca). Cheers.

It's just one of his many accomplishments.
As I've said repeatedly, what makes NaDa so great is that he stood up as an icon in virtually every era. It wasn't until after his legendary bo5 against Jangbi that he well and truly crashed.
And that's why he's Greatest of All Time and why nobody else comes close to contending that title -- and it's unlikely that Flash and Jaedong will even get that chance with SC2 right around the corner.

Let's wait(hope) and see. At least on the outside the progamers don't talk like there's an end to SC1 in sight yet.

That is a retarded statement.
On another note, Flash seems to be going strong once again. Sea is also looking very strong. Hmmm, I'm wondering if even the #2 spot for Jaedong is in danger. I mean, so far, Zergs have been struggling at ZvT, and Jaedong's ZvT has also been shaky lately. Meanwhile, Sea has been on a roll lately winning 7 of his last 10 ZvTs, and going 2-1 with Jaedong in those last 10 matches. Idk, I guess MSL Day 4 will be what decides it? I just wish it'd come sooner

It's in 11 hours, not too long of a wait is it?
I wouldn't be too surprised if Sea won over Jaedong in the MSL. ZvT in general is about 38-14 or so in the last 50 games, so the collective Zerg winrate against Terran over the last month is worse than Hyuk's career winrate against Terran, and the map pool isn't exactly in his favor either. And then of course Sea is probably the 3rd best TvZ player currently.
And ff he wins I'd say Sea has the best shot out of anyone for the 2nd spot.
I hope Jaedong can come up with something good.
|
I believe Jaedong needs to come up with something special to beat the terrans he is facing right now. The actual trends in tvz seem like a nightmare to deal with, and I don't think Jaedong (and any other zerg for that matter) has found an answer yet. I would be a happy panda if I am wrong.
Given the map pool, anything but a terran winning the MSL would be a travesty to me, I think we'll see an all terran semis. At least the OSL has Dreamliner, but I don't know if that's enough.
Sea is locked in the top3 for me right now, and he could very well overtake Jaedong, (of course he has to beat him first). Haven't seen Sea perform like this during the last 2 years.
If Sea beats Jaedong and Fantasy beats Flash, the PR could become pretty messed up

Nice PR, but I would have put Sea a bit higher. He's a monster of late. Sure, his PvT hasn't really been challenged yet, but we'll see him against Stork soon! :D

Do note that the PR was written 2 weeks ago, and that Plexa can not see into the future. As good as he played last month, I really don't think he did anything worthy of being placed over Fantasy or Effort.

Yes, I know how PR's work. I haven't been paying much attention to TL or the PR lately, hence the delay in my remarks :D
