The Europe-based team Templars of Twilight featuring many of the world's best non-korean gamers will be facing off against some well known Korean guilds.
The first clanwar will be against the elite Korean clan HyO, to take place tomorrow, Jan. 30, 10:30 pm Korean time (2:20 pm CET). The format will be 7 bo3 1v1s on the following maps: LT - Luna - Nostalgia.
The second clanwar will be against [gm], widely considered the best Korean clan and a true feeder for professional teams, boasting no less than 17 progamers. This historic clanwar will take place on Feb. 6th, also 10:30 pm Korean time (2:20 pm CET). The format will be 7 bo3 1v1s on LT - Luna - Nostalgia, as well as 2 bo3 2v2s on Huntress - LT - Huntress.
The Korean guild leaders, Control[HyO] and onlytoday[gm], are to be commended for taking on these matches. ToT)Mondragon( also has been tirelessly pursuing these high level matches and the result is a great opportunity for us to see how ToT can stand up to the fierce lineups that both Korean teams will bring to the table. It is uncertain who exactly will participate, but there is a high likelihood of at least a few progamers from [gm]-- thus these clanwars will be a rare opportunity similar to WCG of competition between Korean and non-Korean gosu gamers.

i helped a little bit, especially with lining up the [gm] match (in fact i initially got the idea after seeing a thread in the tourney or broodwar forum about "wouldn't it be great to see a ToT vs [gm]"), but all the credit should go to the clan leaders, for sure.
Fuck yeah I can't wait. Gotta root for ToT! I'd also like it if you didn't make the result of the matches unavoidable to see when DLing the reps. I want to watch to find out^_^
i will be rooting so hard for tot ;p hopefully if they can win at least one of the 2 matches maybe the koreans would start opening up to foreigners more dare i say such a thing =x...
This is really cool. With all the complaining about how ToT is ruining Clan competition, it's only right that they play vs. Koreans to justify monopolizing all the good foreingers.
As always I'm routing for the foreign gamers. Let's see some upsets boys!

don't be dumb, the korean guilds might not practice for it that much but they definitely wouldn't want to lose to a foreigner clan, also, once they're in the game anyone thats any good tries to win
and if its true gm promises that they'll use progamers then obviously they care atleast a little

you're an idiot. hyo and gm aren't pro teams... they're clans... there's no proleague for them, so for the members these clanwars are serious. since ToT has recognized foreign players who i assume get games regularly with koreans, they'd treat this as seriously as any clanwar with another korean team... probably even moreso because no korean clan wants to lose to foreigners.
i hope ToT wins because that means they will get even more matches with top korean teams.
If [GM] sent their very best players, especially if they use their zergs, they probably could 4-0 ToT. And if they have enough good zergs they might not even drop a game. Anyways, the players they send out will no doubt be good, and will no doubt do their best to win.

I've seen it before from you, that you say shit like you know everything, while you don't.
Koreans play competitively, they take this game serious, don't think they will just play their second races and generally mess around in a clanwar like this.

umm some of the members ARE progamers (theres a ton in gm, they really are like a progaming machine), even if the clans are not a proteam ^_^ just shows how good the clans are =X

Hyo is going to be like a trial run for ToT, if they manage Hyo well enough, who knows maybe they can sneek in a few nice games vs [gm], but if the shit hits the fan versus Hyo, oh my god I dont even want to see ToT vs gm hahaha
Very cool While I have my own opinions on the outcome of the matches, I hope both teams play their best and there is a good series that comes out of it.
i'm really looking to that kickass clanwar, it's good to see that ToT is so dynamic, foreigner's pride !! ^_^ However i fear ToT will be beaten by both gm and hyo, there isn't a single guy is this clans who is not a fucking monster from a foreigner point of view ( Delete[hyo] 11-2 Mondi -_-; which planet is this guy from O_o ??? ), hope ToT will give them some ggs.
Delete[HyO] plays TvZ like a machine with rushes etc. But in other machups he lose (TvT,TvP) =] HyO isnt so strong as gm, and thats why ToT should win. And vs gm I hope there will be players like Mondi, Testie, Midian, sEn etc =]

excellent work by tot , but before all you get carried away lets remember that a good korean clan and a pro gamer are entirely different things. I allude to this because i imagine that these games were not prepared for fanatically like the koreans do for other events...

ugh i hate to see this kind of judgement of HyO as "newbs" or "only sending their newbs." these guys are still very skilled, it's just that ToT was much better. let's remember that ToT contains players who should be considered the best of the west (or should i say "best of the rest"? :-P).
and people will always clamor for comparison to progamers, but ToT members aren't pros, they don't have a separate practice facility, easy access to high skilled gaming, and the luxury to practice 24/7. so, in other words, similar to the HyO members who showed up during the clanwar.
it's absolutely no shame nor shock if ToT loses badly to [gm], especially if [gm] comes with a progamer-studded lineup. in other words, let's give credit where credit is due for now, and also have a level head about judging outcomes of these clanwars.
that said, this doesn't change the fact that these clanwars are a great chance to judge how far along ToT really is against the best of the best.
after watching the rep pack of gsp v gm where the score was 2-2, gm has more progamers than gsp by a huge margin right? Well, all i can say is that gm is beatable
ToT will get spanked by gm i assume but.... GW vs HyO, that's for sure.

Underestimation to max id say. Seen all the reps now, and most of those koreans was going non-standard stuff like wraiths, vultures, fastexpo tvz and even floatrush^^ Anyway, very gw to TOT!

ToT has shown themselves to be strong players. I have to admit that I underrated ToT alot but now I kinda think differently. One player I especially got impressed by is Twisted. Go you!
