I doubt it was fake because it allowed every single protoss to whip zergs around for the first time in Starcraft history but I reckon the reason Savior got crushed so bad (he played astoundingly badly) by Bisu was due to him throwing the finals series for cash.

why do people keep saying this, the supposed fixing happened WAY after

It'll be shocking if bisu 3-0ed him cause he let him t.t

Unlikey, while everyone has their price, i don't see savior (or anyone) intensionally loosing a final unless they were paid a lot of money, and supposedly most of the payoffs were 5kish. Also, bisu was a dominant player for a long time after savior, making it unlikely that it was a fluke.

the speculated winning rate for savior was insanely high though, making it rather likely for him to drop that game.

why does it matter what the odds were when there was no fixing going on back then according to the articles?

I'm pretty damn certain they've match fixed for longer just its easier for them to track down people from more recent cases. These gambling websites open and close like every week so it wouldn't be particularly easy to find results from years before.

Don't look too badly on these progamers. It's only human, really- Progamers are basically poor artists who live in bad conditions and give up their free time and personal lives to become better at Starcraft. And not everyone can pull down a big contract like Flash- Most progamers probably wind up retiring unknown and wishing they had gone to college.

The progamers aren't to blame here- the system is. It's ridiculous to ask anyone to work that hard for that little compensation.

That's true for someone like DarkElf or Justin but not Savior. He was set for life even if he spent all the money he won at his prime.

SET FOR LIFE??? hahaha...

Didn't Savior still have the highest salary at CJ? And he probably made more in endorsement deals than almost anyone. He could have definitely continued as a coach if he no longer wanted to play. Maybe set for life is an exaggeration but as long as esports is alive he would have been comfortable.

how can you be 'pretty damn certain' based on no evidence at all? upsets happen all the time it wasnt THAT much of a surprise that Bisu won.

Not saying what these people did was justified but I'm not going to come down too hard on them.

yeah because most progamers are involved in this scandal, right? I mean it's not like it's only a select group that stooped to this, right?? Like, there's not a list of only 8 or so guys that chose to fix games in the OP of this thread is there?

What gives you the assumption that every progamer was bribed to throw games?

(T)Hwasin, I believe in you~~~~~

It has to be (P)Movie. It has to be Jin Young Hwa.

EDIT:

(Z)Mr. Ma's salary is 70,000,000 won.

Well, the (T)Red Sniper gets paid way more.

It is a whopping 100,000,000 won ($88,417 US and 43% higher than (Z)Mr. Ma).

I do not believe that the (T)Red Sniper would do such things for more money.
