This could kill the Korean competitive broodwar scene as we know it. Remember what happened with war3? War3 was a good game definitely skillful and worthy enough to have a pro scene in Korea(obv not as good as bw, but let's not get in to that), and their cheating scandal totally killed it. With this and sc2 on the horizon I don't know...

This type of thing was bound to happen sooner or later. I think we should all be thankful for the future of esports that it was not widespread. This can be shrugged off after a bit of fan boy grief. Fuck savior, but esports will be ok.

I'm not worried about any players in general, I'm just sickened that people would do this.
And for so little, apparently.
Here I thought it was for exorbitant amounts of money...

I am most pissed off at the paltry amount of money a top flight professional would throw away games and his career for. I would have understood more if it was at least 10 times the amount Kind of rubs my noob love for this game in my face.

Fuck you savior.

Pretty sure the betting site didn't even exist back then. and savior wouldn't have given up the final for 2 to 3k USD. ok?

what does that say about the state of esports when players are willing to risk their careers and their freedom for $3k USD?

Yeah, I didn't look at the details of when the site came up...

But seriously, savior pushed other players in and then stole off the top from them. Seems to me like he'd have sold out his grandmother on the street for 2-3k USD. ok?

Personally I don't understand why anyone is disappointed in these players. They just wanted some additional income so they decided to resort to illegal gambling. Starcraft players practice like 15 hours a day and make close to nothing. It's not like they were using hacks or cheating in the game, they were just losing on purpose to make more money.

Obviously this isn't really healthy for the industry as a whole, but still on a personal level I don't see anything wrong with it.

I'm not sure if it says anything about the state of esports.

What it does do, however, is highlight the lack of integrity and foresight that Savior and the rest of his merry band of idiots have.

Well at least the truth is finally revealed, now the rebuilding can begin. It is pretty shameful that they threw games for so little money, people like (Z)sAviOr and (T)Hwasin must make more than the average progamer already yet they still stooped to that level. Utter stupidity.
My irrational dislike for (Z)Luxury for the last few years is justified too, the guy is too fucking random to be real.
