You guys sit there and condemn these progamers when I really can't believe you guys. Even the mods jump onboard when I really feel there's a part people just don't seem to get.

What if it wasn't all about money?

I'm not going to say the realities of progaming are so harsh, so many progamers get McDonalds salary, lots of players are underpaid and lots of them don't cheat, if it was that cut and dry I wouldn't give them any slack.

I'm also not going to talk about all the shitty things Gespa, MBC, and OGN do pretty much just to fuck over players and ruin starcraft because that's just bringing all of Starcraft down and saying match fixing is bad, but it isn't as bad as these other things.

who cares... its hwasin. poor guy just wanted to get paid so he could keep up with his friends' gucci habits. he got caught, and now he is "sorry...really sorry"... i wonder how much of his ill-gotten lip gloss, rings, sunglasses, silk socks, britches, kerchiefs, etc. were returned?

Savior was probably the guy behind most of the match fixing and Hwasin respects the hell out of Savior.

Look at this interview on Hwasin after playing FBH.

http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=65103
- Why were you so focused on playing with FBH
Hwasin - At the Group selection ceremony I couldn't stand watching FBH diss Savior. Savior is a champion and has a high name value. He was once considered the bonjwa by the eSports community and to look down upon him like that is disrespectful. Listening to FBH talk at the ceremony pissed me off. I consider Savior someone I have to catch up to but FBH just disses him and that pissed me off.

Hwasin wanted to win so badly against FBH because he couldn't stand seeing FBH disrespect Savior.

Do you remember the peak of Hwasin's career? 09/07 - 11/07
http://www.teamliquid.net/powerrank/index.php?prid=10
http://www.teamliquid.net/powerrank/index.php?prid=11

He turned into an S class player because he wanted to beat Bisu so badly after Bisu called him insurance and used scouts. The god damn peak of his career was when the guy that knocked out Savior tried to be a dick to him so he went from a 1 match up wonder to an S class player overnight.

Then some genius is going to say he went along with match fixing cause it was just about money not even considering the level of respect he held for Savior when the best Hwasin ever played was just to put Bisu in his place.

It's so easy to condemn him and write him off as some greedy asshole. I'm pretty confident he got involved because of Savior's influence, because there's this guy he respects so much saying we should do this. And what do you think Savior might have said that may have convinced him? That's why I don't condemn Hwasin and think he just wanted it for money, instead if you're going to blame someone blame Savior.

What if it wasn't about money? In Hwasin's case what if he did it because of how much respect he had for Savior? Would you still hate him the same way?

I dont really care about Savior at this point, but about how many games can we say they rigged? Like Hwasin and others?

That just makes him an even bigger idiot if he cheated because Savior asked him to.

Either way, those who rigged matches were being selfish because they jeopardized the careers of their teammates as well, pple they more or less grew up knowing.

I can forgive Hwasin, and probably most other progamers who cheated (with the exception of Savior) but they should be banned permanently from E-sports. It's not abt them anymore, it's about helping the rest of the progamers who are innocent. Letting those who rigged matches back into e-sports will hurt the livelihoods of those who managed to resist the temptation despite their measly wages.

Well, there goes KeSPA's credibility; down the shitter - that's all I can say at this point. Thankfully Flash wasn't apart of this, as far as I know of.

This scandal has nothing to do with KeSPA.

If savior apologized and made some gesture to take responsibility for the players that followed him because of his influence, it would go a long way for everybody. I was just as mad when FBH did his stupid dance and I really hope there will be some kind of statement.

Unlike the other culprits, Savior and Justin are awaiting a criminal trial so perhaps legally it might not be wise for them to say anything publicly yet.

like oov mentioned in the interview, i never even thought for a split second something like this would happen.

and especially the fact that one of the bonjwas is involved just makes this incident so.....erratic? if that is the word to explain how i am feeling.

and also....luxury.....you were my favorite zerg player and i switched my race from toss because of you. i liked your unpredictable style which i mirrored, and although really fucking inconsistent you were, i idolized you....now this......some of those games i watched, i wondered how you could have lost, and these games were proven to have been rigged.

man so bummed about hwasin

I really wonder how many games he dropped on purpose, I mean thinking back there were so many games where he just played so inconceivably horrible, and then the next week he was playing amazing.

Sigh.

Boxer and Oov interviews at the very very end. Good stuff, as always.

The match-fixers are dead to me. Certainly lost all respect for them.

Teamliquid or some people in the gaming community sure are fast.

Personally i'd like to see the reasoning behind all this and everybody's sincerest apologies. Also these gamers should be allowed to play just on probation or something and watched carefully. Its pretty difficult to be able to get a job if you in the news about scandals like this.

edit: poor linking

This "loosers" should be banned forever and forgotten. Everything they earned taken from them, like its with anyone that is caught cheating in other sports.
