if its serious then i must state that sc1 is yesterday and some people need to let go of that, modifying meanial things like "amount of units selected" and "automining" and calling it skill is seriously not the way to go. if you want to separate your own armies into groups of 10 then that is most certainly your choice, don't force the entire platinum community to follow that path, this should honestly be up for vote with a large part of the platinum community involved (not saying that plats are all pro-sauce, but its a start since there is no other dicernable way to seperate those that are "top tier" and those that aren't)
i'm not going to comment on the balance changes, because those are things that actually help the game, but making the game a little more inconvenient to play is not the way to go in terms of making the game "competetive"
there was alot of discussion and controversy about auto-mining and MBS and about how the game won't be as pro or whatever, but seriously people need to stop mistaking inconvenience of selecting your probes after you spawn for skill, not only are you going to have more bullshit buttons to push now (chronoboost) / queen/ mule after you have 2 base, now you have to select your drones/probes/scvs to mine after they spawn each time... imagine doing that on a chronoboosted nexus... that would be more redundant than all the other redundancies that you "removed' from the game
not to appear cynical, but i think this sc2mod could go a different direction. the balance part is good and its nice to be proactive to keep the game from being a roach-fest (single strategy viability) but removing smart-cast/automining/ etc is just plain stupidity in the sense that it's 2010 and most of us want to play an RTS where software can take care of the non-strategic part (and no, i am not saying that macro is bad, invoncenience is not macro skill either)
Looks like you're not READY FOR SOME E-SPORTS!
yeah i got totally owned...

It might be an April Fools joke, but the positive feedback from the community might make Blizzard pay attention to some of the details (such as stalker fire animation). Therefore it actual is a very well thought out joke. I personally really like a lot of the changes, specifically firing animations.

I already went to bed, then checked TL with my phone, they got up after the family fell asleep to read the thread. I am so fucking mad about this mod, I don't want to play it at all!

So, as I was reading it, here in the US at about noon Mar 31st, I strongly disliked it. Max unit selection and stupidity such as "workers don't auto-mine" made me feel sorry for the apparent IQ of "progamers." I didn't like anything about this mod.
But then I saw the lurker and I felt like I could take all the nonsense in this "pro mod" and more just to have it back. Roaches attack air too? I was sold.
So a tip of my hat to you. I'm glad I read this today because tomorrow my bullshit radar would have exploded while reading this. Great Apr 1st.

Observer
As an homage to great Starcraft moments, the observer now blocks turrets, cannons, and spore colonies when placed directly above them.
LOL well played :D

This sounds like an absolutely terrible idea. I am deeply offended and will file a personal greivance demanding NonY be stripped of his TSL title.

At first I was skeptic but after reading the incredible detailed feedback from Dustin Browder and SangHo, eSTRO progamer that's posted on: http://www.sc2promod.com/feedback.html I totally fell in love with the whole idea.

As we all know, in Starcraft 1, the most important things in getting better at Starcraft are APM and proper splits. People spend years working on these things before they even worry about how to play the game, and that is why we have amazing bonjwa level players like Flash, Jaedong, and go.go.

how can you hate on the future of esports though? i think if there's any community united and decisive enough to balace sc2 then TL is the one to do it..

Ammm.. why the hell.. "bring back sc2 to pro gaming" .. the beta of the game has been out for a month and you decide it is hot 'pro gaming material'... and making in essentially the same as sc1 is the only way of it being so... I am really disappointed ! I knew that a sc1 remake mod will eventually come out and I'm ok with it.. but saying that it would be the only thing worth being played professionally ....i wasn't expecting you to dismiss the new game without giving it a chance... i'm just shocked..

This has been one of the hardest tasks for the coders: Reworking the pathing of the stalker and the immortal to mimic the behavior of their predecessor, the dragoon. It’s not quite the same yet, but it’s damn close, as our players confirm.
I knew something was missing from the game. Thanks so much TL!
