In the depths of the Saara Desert lies the Headquarters of the Holy Guardians, a secret cult with supernatural powers. Its purpose is to keep the Scarlet Menace from bringing terror to mankind. The Scarlet Menace are vengeful spirits who travels throughout the spirit realm searching for humans to possess. Each time they kill a human, his enraged spirit becomes part of the Scarlet Menace and starts to haunt humankind with his new brothers. Their objective is to grow in number until they can live freely in the material world with the remaining humans enslaved. Secretly converting human spirits, either by night rituals or by turning innocent people lynched unfairly into vengeful souls, is their way of not going extinct. Leaving the Scarlet Menace out of control is condemning mankind to extinction. They were first identified by The Sentinel, a now cyborg entity who lives in the deepest level of the Citadel, connected by cables and machines that keep him alive for centuries and link him to all parts of the world. The Sentinel is able to detect the presence of these spirits around the globe. Incapable of moving, he sends one of the Apostholes to get rid of them. The Apostholes are figures with supernatural powers. Although not usually able to individually detect the possessed ones, they are able to establish a radius of where the spirits are located to build the Birdcage. Just one Aposthole is sent so no suspicions are raised when they arrive at the places they are designated to. The Apostholes are rare creatures with incredible powers that the Holy Guardians cannot afford to lose, although they have theCitadel Academy constantly training other students. So, it is also safer to send just one and believe in his abilities than risking losing more than one Aposthole in case of a mission failure. The Birdcage is an energetic field created by The Sentinel's technology, which is able to separate the soul from the body of people who touches it. Its form resembles the cylindrical appearance of a common birdcage. Once activated, the Aposthole confines a group of people inside of it. If the Aposthole dies, the Birdcage will last for three whole months. People inside it will be doomed if not able to find food and water inside its radius, and all they can do is finding the Scarlet Menace and prevent them from growing in numbers until no living body is possessed. The activation of The Birdcage also creates a hologram of The Sentinel. Its voice will echo throughout the whole area with the following message:
"Souls are corrupted and must be freed. It is up to you to decide who are the possessed ones and to eliminate their body in order to put an end to their agony. Humankind future existence lies on your shoulders." And so the game begins.
Generic Mafia Rules This game follows the standard TL Mafia rules and follows the banlist. These game specific rules overrides the standard ones, in case of conflict.
A. You have to post at least once per cycle (Day and Night). If you fail to do so, you will be modkilled on the next Night post.

Lucca Gallo Ricci was chosen by the Sentinel to become an Aposthole. He was required to travel to the Sahara desert in order to reach The Citadel and starting his training. During the flight to Marrakesh, he met Fischer, with whom he became a very close friend. Fischer was also into bodybuilding, as Lucca was. He started to wonder if The Citadel would have all the gym apparels he needed... The flight wasn't long, and quickly Lucca reached his hotel. There, he finally started to think about what happened in Italy. His family killing each other. The night deaths. His mother agonizing on the ground, the face becoming red as a hellish scream came from her lungs. Things he wish he never would have to think about again. Maybe... maybe he could become a reliable tool for the Sentinel. Maybe... Lucca slept. On the next day, the morning sun woke him up. He knew he needed to prepare because in that day, he would have to travel again, to face the dreads of the Sahara Desert and find The Citadel, accordingly to the Sentinel. "Captain Renault Trois, also know as Captain 3, will approach you and lead the way. You'll know who he is." When Lucca went to take his breakfast, he found out Fischer was also there. They sat on the same table and started chatting again. Suddenly, a man in a cape approached. His face couldn't be seen: "Lucca Gallo Ricci?" "Captain 3?" "Come with me." Fischer held Lucca by his arm. "Don't" "Who are you?" asked Captain "I'm fucking Fischer. And my friend is staying. "Lemme go, Fischer" "It's not safe, Lucca" "I won't repeat myself." Said Captain 3. "Get the hell outta here or I'll beat the shit out of you." Both Fischer and Captain sustained eye contact for a brief, intimidating moment. Fischer woke up to a silent place. Only nine people were there, inside a Birdcage he already saw before. It was happening again. However, people didn't seem that desperate. Sometimes, suspicions were threwn here and there, but it didn't seem that a killing would take place shortly. After Lucca came to himself, he realized the dessert he has ordered disappeared. Completely forgetting someone would die that day, he screamed: "WHO STOLE IT? WAS IT YOU?" and pointed to the manager of the Hotel du Azoulay, Bamou. Bamou replied that he had no idea what he was talking about, but Lucca insisted: "you stole my dessert! Give it back! Give it back!". "Calm down, Lucca. Why don't you get to your room? See, the Birdcage is a cyllinder, as a Brazilian who can't speak english properly would say, and we cannot get outside the cafeteria, but you can get to your room which is downstairs and rest for a while, okay?" Lucca agreed. He went to his room to do some calisthenics and shoot some YouTube videos while thinking how he would approach the horrifying situation. "You're a piece of shit, Bamou" said Hassan Alami, the regular drunkie, who was out of reach for more booze. "Now I'm inside this clusterfuck and I'm not even as drunk as I should to deal with it. How about you die first?". Bamou stayed in complete silence, even when the others were talking directly to him. Suspicions grew. "Why isn't he saying anything? Do you have anything to hide?" Silence. Then: "how about that Masked Woman over there? Why is no one being suspicious of her?" Suddenly, Lucca stormed into the room wearing shades: "I can see better now! His soul is red! He is possessed!". Fischer instantly moved towards Bamou, Lucca followed. Bamou picked up a knife and threaten to defend himself with it. The Masked Woman appeared behind him and hit him with a chair, that broke with the impact, Bamou falling on the ground. The Masked Woman continued to hit his head with the remains of the chair, until his skull crushed and blood covered his face. Bamou's skin started to become more and more red, his body convulsioned and, after a otherworldly scream came from his lungs, a scarlet ectoplasm grew from his eyes, nose and mouth, floated in the air, and disappeared. Lucca's dissert slowly slided from Bamou's pocket.

Although the situation was pretty much disturbing, most of them remained calm, especially Lucca, Fischer and Captain 3. "Who are you and how did you know?" asked Captain 3 to the Masked Woman. "I didn't. Somebody just had to die". Some of them asked that the Woman took her mask of, which she refused. A heated discussion started to take place, interrupted by a photography flash. It was Jean Rimbelaire, the french guy who was sitting at the cafeteria. "Delete this photo right now", said Captain 3. "Make me", said Jean. Captain stormed towards him. "Okay, okay! Jeez!", said Jean, deleting the photo. "Do you have any idea where you are and what's happening? More deaths will happen and you are worried about little things. We got one right, but there might be others, so let's rest for tonight and take a breath, because tomorrow someone else will die, too. And it could be any of us." A moment of silence. Lucca decided to go back to his room first, the sunglasses brightly reflecting the hotel's lights. The others went to their rooms below the cafeteria, remaining only the Masked Woman, Hassan and Captain 3. "Why don't you all go back to your rooms?" asked the permanently drunk Hassan. "I don't have a room and I guess she doesn't have one either", replied Captain 3. "Isn't this suspicious?" asked Hassan. "No?" replied the Masked Woman. "You all need to sleep tight. I'll stay awake and watch everyone's back for a while" concluded Captain 3. But to no avail. On the next morning, Lucca went to the cafeteria and found everyone staring at Captain's body on the ground, his chest wide open exposing his internal organs, blood everywhere. The Scarlet Menace has acted, and no one had any idea what might have happened. Time is ticking...

After the first death, Lucca celebrated that he finally found his berry triffle. He was so happy that he decided to bring the remains of the broken chair back to his hotel room. There, he mixed his dessert with the powerful RICCI POWDER®, instantly feeling a lot stronger. While Lucca was busy with his food, discussion already started in the early morning "It's either the Masked Woman or the drunk guy", said Fischer. "Or both" said Méline. "Or none of us", replied the Masked Woman - "I sure didn't hear or see anything suspicious at night and, if I didn't, this guy didn't either. Come on, just look at him! He's so drunk. He wouldn't be able to do such a thing"> "Maybe that's what you want him to think?" said Carl. "Maybe you're the one who wants us to think that. What if he isn't the bad guy? Will you have me dead too?" Carl said "Of course, you were the only other person resting here with Captain. You're the most suspicious" Fischer took Carl by his neck, strangling him: "you're too prone to kill people. How about you die first?" "NOOOO! MY PHOTOS!" - screamed Jean Rimbelaire. Hassan has spilled Vodka over Jean's camera, completely damaging all of Jean's works. Jean felt so angry. He punched Hassan on the chest, but it seems that he wasn't so strong. Hassan picked a knife from his pocket and tried to stab Jean "no one messes with Hasan!". Jean could easily dodge Hassan's attacks due to his drunkness, but tripped over and fell. Hassan went to stab him, but Jean kicked him in the leg, breaking it, and Hassan fell too. Hassan tried to stab Jean on the leg, but missed, losing the knife with the impact on the ground. They both chase the kinfe but Jean was quicker, and in a quick move, Jean cutted Hassan's neck. His blood spilled on the ground until his eyes became lifeless. Jean was in shock.

Méline Bernard did her best to help the other civillians in the Hotel du Azoulay. She managed to correctly guess one of the Scarlet Menace's corrupted soul in the beginning. She has promised to use her powers to the good and save humanity from corruption. Méline was surprised to find evil intentions on the Hotel she used to stay when traveling to Marrakesh - she often stays in there since part of her family created roots in the country. She wasn't expecting that the Scarlet Menace would dare to act so close to the Citadel. When she saw someone getting punched in the face and two others running from the cafeteria, she knew something was off. That's why she has set the Device on, creating the Birdcage. She had to save her city. She would still be doing that if she wasn't found dead on her room, his chest completely open and exposing the interiors, but no signs of her heart. Just lots of blood and a cake of internal organs.
Méline Bernard - You're an Aposthole! You felt a disturbance in Hotel du Azoulay while traveling to Marrakech. Things got a bit hectic in the cafeteria, so you activated The Device without anyone noticing. Funny, because you always travel to Marrakech because of your family bonds there due to the French occupation, and never saw such confusion there before. Everyone sees you as a tourist with strong bonds with the country, and a regular at the Hotel du Azoulay.

Fischer - You were recruited by the Sentinel after surviving the Scarlet Menace attack in Italy. Not the best holiday travel ever. You're a bit intuitive and act on impulse. You're also talkative and make friends very easily.!
Lucca mourned Fischer's death all night long. It was a bit suspicious that he could hear Fischer's door opening after midnight and hear him wandering through the corridors. Maybe he was, after all, a killer from the Scarlett Menance. Killing innocent Fischer was way too much for Lucca's mind. He had to recompose himself. No videos were shot that die, and Lucca's Instagram followers were a bit worried - even when his mother died, Lucca still posted daily stories. Now only four of them were alive. Lucca, the Masked Woman, Jean Rimbelaire and Carl Hedgesworth. They all agreed to one thing: they would lock themselves in the available hotel rooms so no one could risk dying/killing anyone. They would discuss the next death during the day on the cafeteria, after eating something. It could be the last moment of anyone's life. They should do it with care and maybe having a good - and final - meal. On the next morning, Lucca, the Masked Woman and Carl took a large breakfast waiting for Jean to come by. Afternoon came and no signs of him. The three of them decided to check on him. They knocked his door. No response. Knocked again. No response. "Get back", said Carl, before he started kicking the door next to the knob until it broke and they could enter the room. Jean's room was covered in black and white photographs of naked woman. Black, white and red with his splashed blood. His camera was also covered in blood. Jean Rimbelaire, the professional photographer, was dead on the ground, his body viscerized.

You need to get out of there as soon as possible, or you will lose the track. You probably can use your abilities to see if you can catch one of those demonic things. I get he is sorta claiming his "character name" but I don't see how that helps identify him as town. As far as I am aware we all received a character for flavor purposes but doesn't determine alignment.

This is the only thing I can see that might irk Chez into killing Ticktock. He shaded Chez and in the same breath invoked the role PMs, maybe he got a role read off him.
Reposted for visibility. Also Chez is renown for being a role-player. Not as in roleplayer as in playing a character which he's ALSO renown for, but also for sniffing out roles as both alignments. NOTORIOUS, I think he's as good as like BC or Ver at shit like that. I think his D1 would have been SEARCHING for posts like this that make Chez think that the player is thinking about their role vs being vanilla and forgetting it instantly.
Oh, I can answer this now. Day 1 post alignments I don't really pay attention. I usually use this time to get work done at work to ensure I have plenty of time to devote to end of day (as of lately). I usually transition to playing again.
My night 1 kill was based on a few factors. One, I wanted people to freak out over night kill. Be like what!?!!? Two, which many guessed correctly, avoid the tracker. Three, get rid of people who are likely to reason and side with people like VE. You got to keep the tunnelers alive, when they aren't on mafia. In the end, slam and jock voted with me to get rid of rayn (Poor Fischer). This is why I waited til end of day on the final night. I new both of these guys voted last minute with me the previous night, so they would likely change their votes again. They were not stable voters. Presence at the end of day was crucial. That is why I waited stalk the forum at end of day. I did fall asleep briefly a couple of hours before end of day. Fortunately, I woke up.
Now, that I'm not keeping my face a secret like previous years on this forum. I'll be open for video mafia. Then you guys will know that I really only do one shots for my videos. It's almost all improv, which makes it enjoyable for me to watch as well because I forget the jokes I make during my improv spree and the timing surprises me. The unexpected jokes make me laugh and because it was me making them the humor matches mine and the guy making the jokes know about the same information that I do. You don't have to worry about the audience understanding if they are very like-minded with very similar experiences.
I have to admit that the only reason I decided to keep doing this "Holy Guardians" thing was because of your roleplaying and the jokes. I also think your jokingly play is a relief from a way too serious and often rule style of playing in the forums. I think I went on with your jokes 100% of the times we've played here

TBH I didnt read the game much until the end with all the hilarity that ensued. Reminds me of the old days when I was screaming at people for being bad. Good times.
Although I then did read the post you made and I died. Id easily say he is better at this game than I am / ever was. People do not realize that as much as chez role plays his character he also plays the game. Videos always contain some clue to what he wants to say / his intentions etc... You may have to analyze the fuck out of him but you need to. He routinely lives decently long into games unless people actively choose to remove him from play as he goes from trolololoing around to winning the game for whatever side he is on.

Btw videomafia sounds better than playing on the thread atm. That or play a turbo that last 3 hrs I think are better options than having almost a day to discuss. People get busy and shit happen irl that make us be busy so that is why I think games feel “long and boring” or it looks like people arent trying to play at all.
I'll probably host a game in a month and I'll try shorter cycles (24/12 or 24/24). I think the problem is that we have a small number of players and some of them join in just to fill the game when they actually don't have time / patience to play.
We've also developed a bad meta here. It's like we are trying to lynch people by luck and not actually reasoning. We chill, chat, say "okay, this guy said some weird things, let's lynch him" and boom.
