Message Blazinghand if you request a ban please ^_^ Also when the game you're sitting out is over! |

The meta has shifted significantly, that thing deters me from playing much or anything at all, but I like and understand your attitude. Though I don't think that you need two games to cool off - I believe you are a little too hard on yourself. I've been waiting for a classic Normal 25-player game for a tiny while now myself.
I'm not sure what you mean by "classic" here especially since you said the meta has deterred you from playing...the largest games I've seen are relatively spammy. Outlaw in January wasn't meant to be a large normal and that was close to 25 I think. Otherwise the latest controlled game I can recall was when I started here - the post-restricted large normal Carol game...in Nov 2014.
Artanis has a post-restricted game coming up, but I think that's a mini.

I am officially retiring from having anything remotely close of a filter.

I think a heavily post restricted game would be a good experiment. Like 20 posts a day.

Post restricted games have been done in the past and they're usually quite well-loved. Definitely worth giving it a go!

I'll request a warning for damdred and nnn_thekushmountains. One was modkilled for posting game relevant information outside the thread and the other for attempting to confirm themselves by posting their coaching qt. Both claim they were honest mistakes, so I'll take their word for it.
Thanks.
So, it sounds to me like bum and kita are both fine with a 2-game ban for bum. That is approved. I'm sorry to hear that you're feeling demoralized, bum. Maybe next time you swing around things will be better!
Warning for Damdred is approved.
Kitaman27, you've requested a warning for nnn_thekushmountains, but several players have suggested that the mistake was not made in good faith, and you did modkill. Are you sticking with a warning request or will you request a ban?

Also we went over this so many times now. "Bigger" games do not necessarily correlate with more content/more to read. There are more and shorter posts nowadays mainly because of cell phones. It does not take longer to read a few oneliners than it takes to read a wall of text.
Maybe the game got more competitive. I don't think that this is a bad thing. There were always shitfights and they will always be there as long as people care about the game.

I'm fine with whatever the majority of people think is fair. It seems like that's a 1-game ban at the moment.

There is no majority of people. JAT is gonna be JAT and prescribe outrageous punishments like always. Rayne didn't understand the circumstances that I wasn't told not to do it. It wasn't in the rules at all. I tried to be a good citizen and clarify it with you and you seemed to just care about providing the link.
I wasn't malicious in my intent. I was just trying to prove that I was town. I wasn't thinking that I was going to ruin the game or even that I was going to get modkilled. I thought Kita was going to come in and change the rules to including quoting.
And Rayne is right in that you shouldn't be trying to figure out a player's intent. You should go by the rules. And the rules said nothing about quoting.
There have been times when masons quoted their QT. No problem there. People have quoted PM conversations in PM games. So this is clearly a gray area, and you can't say what I did was obviously illegal.

Both sides are kinda right so I suppose it's hard to decide, here is my opinion. I have no idea what was said in kush / kita PMs, but if the timestamp stuff wasn't written in the rules, I think kush shouldn't get banned IF the PMs were unclear. Warning is OK in that setting: kita had to modkill kush, but kush didn't know he did a mistake (that is the debate).

Here you go:
Original Message From kitaman27: yeah that's not allowed. I've updated the PM section of the OP in case it wasn't clear. Show nested quote +Original Message From nnn_thekushmountains: I couldn't find in the rules, but there should be a rule against showing the thread your qt. Town could make everyone post their qt then scum would be right fucked.
So I thought Kita thought I meant showing the thread your QT as in linking it, which was what he changed the OP to include.

Anyway. Didn't want to say anything cuz I really enjoyed that game but kita made an horrible decision. If he followed the game at all he would know Kush would never be lynched and if he would be lynched that time stamp QT thingie would not have mattered at all.

Still I believe Kush knew he could get modkilled deep down but couldn't care in the moment.

So, it sounds like there's substantial disagreement about whether or not this is reasonably a ban. I am inclined to err on the side of caution and approve a warning. I'll check back after work to see if there's any more input then make a decisino.

Why would I want to be modkilled?

How about you read the passage in question and see for yourself?! There isn't the slightest bit of doubt that Kush knew fully well that what he did wasn't acceptable. Look at the pm he just posted - if you read this do you conclude that it would be acceptable to quote directly from your qt? No, you wouldn't. Kush claims that he is incredibly stupid but the stuff he posted in the game and the pm prove without a doubt that he knew better. Honest mistake? We are talking about a guy who smurfed into an all newbie game to have an easier time beating up inexperienced people.

I have no idea how you can actually believe him when he says that he didn't know better.

PMs: You may PM only your partner. Mafia members may PM their entire faction. Each pair will be provided with a quicktopic. You may not post the link to your QT in the thread or directly quote posts with timestamps as a means to confirm your alignment. The mafia team will receive an additional quicktopic for factional communication.
So the question is when was this added to the op (or if it was there in the first case). When was it?

I updated the OP after the modkill for clarification. Originally it just said the link, which is why I said I thought kush misunderstood things and requested a warning.
On the flip side, marv directly told him in the thread that timestamps weren't allowed ahead of time and he chose to post it without consulting with the hosts.
It's generally common practice that we allow quoting as long as there aren't timestamps, but it's one of those things that never really made it's way into the model OP since it doesn't always apply.

I'm not calling myself stupid. Of course I realized it should have been illegal. That's why I sent kita the PM in the first place. However, I did not assume that Kita thought it should be illegal. I thought maybe he didn't realize the full power of it.
